Eating new bedding

I got Stripe a new paper bedding and he was eating it a little. Should I change it?

I put a thin layer of hay over most of the bedding.

Will this be good enough?

He might be eating the paper because it's new. I find piggies tend to nibble most things at first. He will probably stop once he decides it's not that good.

Mine do that too, and they are quite funny and cute! So glad we got them!

Yes, Truffle and Polo each consume a few mouthfuls of wood shavings when bedding change day comes round. Thankfully they prefer hay and I don't have to hover saying "I don't think you should be eating that, it could block you up" and similar

Mine always eat aspen bedding when I first put it in. They usually stop once I put a pile of hay in.
