My boy is a black skinny. Have looked in his ears and nothing conclusive. He shakes his head violently which causes his ears to flap around and makes a fluttering sound? He is not scratching his ears that often. As I’ve mentioned he is black. Did look at his ears with a powerful flashlight and everything looked good.So my question for the forum is this: Is this a character trait of skinnies? Thanks to all that respond.

Hey I am sorry to ask but why does he shakes his head violently?

Yes I would say the ear shake/flapping sound is definitely a normal skinny pig characteristic! Having no hair they are also more likely to notice if they get a bit of hay stuck to themselves and shake it off. But if you are at all worried please get a routine vet check rather than trying to examine the ears yourself x

:agr: I wouldn't be overly worried unless the shaking is a constant thing, especially as he isn't scratching at them and there isn't any other symptoms.
