Dog Killed My Pippin

Last Saturday my son's dog that I was caring for killed my beloved guinea pig. I didn't think about what the dog could do when I left for a 20 minute errand. He was blind and old and asleep when I left. I came home to find Pippin in his mouth, dead. I am so sad right now. I love her so much and I feel so GUILTY about not protecting her like I should have. What is even harder is I saved the dog from being put down a few hours before.

I am so sorry; sadly it takes only seconds for a dog to kill once the hunting instinct is awakened. But it is a very heart-breaking way to find out. Pipping can't have suffered for long.
 
So sorry for your loss. What a terrible accident.
