Does anyone else find red eyes scary?

I was just wondering if any of you thought the same as me(I might just be being weird!) but animals with red eyes really freak me out(sorry to all of you gorgeous pigs!) does anyone else think this or is it just me?:)
 
My piggie bubbles has red eyes, and when i go out to cover them up of an evening sometimes they will catch the light in the dining room and it looks like they glow red.
Thats quite creepy.
 
I've just got two new piggies, both sisters, one is beige and has pink eyes, and the other is lilac and has darker pink eyes...I think that pink eyes are really pretty, it sort of lets you see the eye in a way that brown eyes don't.
 
I don't mind dark red eyes, it's just when they are bright red and look like rubies...(((((shudders)))))
 
I think they are beautiful. In rescues many guinea pigs are overlooked just because they have red eyes.
 
I know..but then you have the people who love them and they rescue them...I have a rescue who has red eyes as she came with her sister...I have a guinea pig with no ears from a rescue as I thought exactly what you have just said- that she would be overlooked because she wasn't "perfect"
 
My piggie in the picture has red eyes, at first I didn't really like her, mostly because of red eyes, but now I love her with all my heart. She's my baby. I think her red eyes are adorablex)
Also I've had a hamster with red eyes, and my friends hamster has a red and black eye, that was cool :p
 
We have two with pink eyes. Our little Opal is pure white with pink/red eyes and we got her from our local rescue centre. She was handed in as she looked like an alien and no-one would want her....well they were wrong, she is gorgeous. Dougal (pictured left) also has pink/red eyes. Needless to say we like pink eyes! x)
 
I think all Piggies are lovely and adorable whatever colour their eyes or fluff is!
 
I find bright red eyes a little scary...when they are sat there...staring at you while you are trying to sleep


But luckily McMac has very dark red eyes :)
 
Piglet has red eyes, she was rejected by everyone because of them so I rescued her. To be honest I wasn't sure about red eyes but Piglet is an amazing little girl and I forget she has red eyes.
 
Nope I love red eyes x) I also have no problem with black animals or black with red eye animals x)

My family were a little scared of Thimble when they realised he had one red eye (does he have something wrong with him?) however he's soon taught my folks that despite having an unusual coloured eye this doesnt make him evil/ugly/horrible....!

No, never has bothered me and I have had a few red eyed beauties. I only have one at the moment though; my Hamster. I don't really get the whole 'they scare me' thing, but ahh well.
 
both boys are red eyes, although I didnt pick them because of the red eyes, when I heard about the raw deal all piggies with red eyes get, I was determined to have at least one in my family as soon as possible, then the boys happened to make me fall in love with them, so what if they have red eyes, it makes no difference to me, there is no difference in them for having pink/red or dark eyes (although I have to say their eye colours really set off their fur well).

But then I have never been one for prejudice, I have a black dog, will always have a black dog as I love them so much, others will home any colour bar black (cant understand why), so they end up waiting and waiting for a home.
 
Thanks everyone for your replys! I never knew about them being stuck in rescues for ages because they have pink eyes! My new resouloution is that next time i get a new piggy to adopt a red eyed guinea pig from a rescue. I need to overcome my fears!
 
I love all piggies, I think I actually prefer them to have pink eyes. One of my boys has pink eyes and in my eyes he's a little stunner x) I can see why those eyes might unnerve you though xx
 
i really dont get it, why be scared of something that just lacks pigmentation?, the vast majority of these phobias are stemmed from the parents as its them that the children hear saying "ohh devil eyes, vampire eyes etc" and childeren being children pick up on this and follow the same.
its like parents that say yuk- spiders horrible things - the poor kids grow up thinking spiders are bad.
no one is born being scared of pink eyes or spiders etc its learnt behaviour, be it picked up from the family , tv or reading about it.
 
My Tutti has pinky red eyes and i'm a huge fan although when I picked her out her personality shone out to me!But I love all piggies they are charming creatures red eyes or black eyes!xx>>>
 
It's so sad, you always see the pink/red eyes piggies left behind, the same with pink eyed rabbits too. I adore pink eyed piggies they tend to have more interesting colours, as they have diluted pigmentation....Lilac & Slate piggies are beautiful, and pink eyed whites too which are often mistaken for albino's

no but Popcorn was one of only 2 females left(other was cookie) so i think she was probably over looked becuase of it... i think shes beautiful x)
 
I've never found red eyes scary. In fact they are my weakness. A white animal with red eyes is just adorable to me. It contrasts so well.

My two piggies were in the petshop for ages because they had red/pink eyes and they are the friendliest piggies ever. Ludwig follows me everywhere I go, standing on his feet and waving his little front paws to get my attention and Gilbert just loves to be picked up and laze around for hours.

It saddens me to think that such cute personalities were almost put down because of their red eyes. :(

We are not evil! We even made a heart with our bodies! <3

I don't mind pink or red eyes at all. In fact, I've just taken on a 4th guinea pig, Floss, - she's a gorgeous little white swiss, but nobody wanted her because of her pink eyes... :0
 
Aww! Three of my guinea pigs have red eyes (pink, red and one ruby!) and one has eyes that switch between black and red, which is a little weird. I don't mind red eyes! :)

But I'll tell you what is scary - seeing my cats eyes glowing from my brother's room at night! :))
 
May I just point out that I do jot have anything against red eyed guinea pigs and I do own one and will happily rescue one when I come to getting a new pig. I was not saying I do not think they are pretty or nice as I know that it's what's on the inside that counts. I only made this thread to see if any body else found them a bit scary say at night or when they stare at you or something.
