Do Ugly Guinea Pigs Exist?

I wouldn't say there are really "ugly" guinea pigs, I could see how some people might find some breeds un-attractive, the "werewolf" breed is probably the breed I could see people not liking, hairless except their nose and sparce hair down their back, they certainly look a little bizzar and wouldn't be amiss from a low budget horror movie, but, personally, I think all guineas have their merits and unique beauty even if they look like strange little hippo werewolf things. :)

(I do feel sorry for them...Cute as anything though!)

Aww I feel sad for the babies who aren't meeting societies conventional idea of "beauty" and yes every parent will think their child is beautiful in the same way on here most people would find every guinea pig beautiful!

As for "ugly" pigs. I took in Buddy because he was too "ugly". Buddy was an Abysinnian X and part mismatched Himilayan! He had one pink ear, one darker ear, white fluffy fur going in every direction, a touch of a darker patch off to one side of his face and to top it all he had pink eyes! He was certainly last in the queue when looks where given out but within minutes of meeting him I was in love. He was such a special piggy, so trusting and loving and I could never ever see him as anything but beautiful. I still miss him now even 2 and a half years later...

That is my DREAM guinea pig?! I've been on the look out for an aby/himi cross with red eyes for years! How anyone could think that was ugly is beyond me?!?!
I'm still on the lookout for one <3

I can't find any guinea pig ugly, they are all beautiful for me! In fact, if I see a guinea pig that looks like other people would brandish ugly (like pews, mis markings etc) I find them even more beautiful!

I adopted Lola from a generic rescue I volunteered at and remember a busy open day when a pair of ladies approached her pen and shouted with a contorted face: "Ohhh, what an ugly ratty thing" . I had to hold myself real together but did curse and call them ugly instead silently. Lola was a "elderly" single girl so she came to live with me. She is about 5 now :)

I have an odd looking Abby. She is grey and white and has quite a square face but me and my.Kids think she is very cute.I have an Abby with Himalayan markings and red eyes.Think I had better step up security.Already moving house cos boss wants to pignap my poppyrose.

no such thing as an ugly piggy :luv:

had to laugh at some of these comments about babies though :))

All piggies are beautiful. Hairy/ hairless , red eyed/dark eyed, young or old. I think they are all gorgeous.

I agree. My Erin (R.I.P) was a white himi / aby and ws beautiful but just because she had pink eyes, I was once told by a very nasty person that she was ugly and the ugliest out of my pigs :(

I always try and go for pink eyed gerbils too as I always think they will be waiting the longest.

As a youngster my Dougal wasn't what you'd call handsome by any stretch of the imagination ( pig on the left - he was just a mess of hair), but you couldn't call him ugly.

He, and his hair grew into each other, and he's certainly the best looking boy I've had once he matured. Just a shame I didn't get many nice pics of him as an adult....

So no ugly pigs..... some of them just need to grow into themselves.

No they're all gorgeous!
When I got my hamish over a year ago, his foster mum took him to the vet for his six weeks check before I collected him and she called him ugly, to his face!
Hamish is the Dalmatian piggy below

Answer: NO!

Though I have had someone say that my rescue greyhound is ugly to my face!

I've never thought of any guinea pig as ugly.

I have wanted some less than others but not because I think they are ugly! Every pig is a beautiful pig to me.
