do piggies sleep with there eyes open?

i reckon it depends on the piggy, if it is the dominant piggy i would say they sleep with there eyes shut. if it is the non dominant one then they sleep with there eyes open open or half way so they can watch out for danger and to protect their leader piggy. hope this helps! hugs and cuddles to your fur babies. :smitten: :smitten: :-* :-*
 
My little boar sleeps with his eyes open (at least when he's on my lap he does) and very very occasionally squints his eyes but I've never seen them closed completely (although I have had many other piggies that did sleep with their eyes closed tight!).
 
most of my 12 sleep with thier eyes open but few do sleep with them shut

When they are lying on the floor they must be sleeping then I thought they were just having a rest oh god how funny ;D ;D

I thought the same when I first got mine. It was like "god they really don't need much sleep do they?" ;D

I always thought they slept at night at the same time as me ;D ;D ::)
 
One of my 6 sleeps with them open she is the dominant sow out of her pairing, the rest have them shut :) x
 
i miss my piggies at the moment, am away in manchester and they are the other side of the country and a million miles away from me...i wonder if they are sleeping with their eyes open now!

Xavier once slept on me with his eyes closed...but he could of just been playing "if i shut my eyes you wont be able to see me because i cant see you!" i totally love the mentality!

that reminds me of zoe, she hides her head in the hay rack and seems to think, if i can't see you you can't see me! it's so funny to see a ginger/white rump sticking out of the hay rack. 2funny 2funny 2funny sometimes animals are so funny! gotta love them. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: mind you when she gets a hay seed stuck in her eyes it's not funny! :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
 
Duke and Lois both close their eyes tight shut, i get worried sometimes Lois is that tightly asleep! i think shes going deaf in her old age so me moving around or opening her cage doesnt wake her up! its scary! lol
 
aww OAP guinea pig!

i told my mum not to over feed the boys while i'm away...just to make sure i told her a little white lie! >:D >:D >:D i said

please dont over feed the boys, because if you do the food in their tummies will ferment and they will explode. if that happens i'm going to be really upset!

was sooo funny as i did it all with a straight face! i think she may actually believe me! ooppss!

i'm gonna start watching the boys alot more now to see if they do ever slip up and sleep with their eyes shut! ::) :P :P :P

also no offence to anyone from up here but mancs really sucks when none of your mates are around and the people you work with bore the socks off you... :'(
