I have a 6 week old male skinny named Wilbur, he is my first skinny. Is this normal? I have been researching a lot on skinnies, I noticed this and don’t know if I am paranoid or if I need to be concerned. Thank you:)

Don't worry, it looks like the normal 'bald spot' you find behind each ear of a guinea pig. It's more obvious on hairy pigs. You might be able to see that the skin is thinner than the surrounding skin. I've been lead to understand that it's part of the pigs cooling process along with the ears. A bit like elephants. All my pigs, including the skinnies have them.

Thank you so much! I have have had several different tules of animals over the years but this is my first guinea pig. Can I ask another question regarding a second guinea? I have been reading they are pretty social and should have a second is that true and if so is a second male around the same age appropriate?

yes, piggies are social and like to live in pairs or more. However only two boars together no more or it is likely to result in fights

Some Guinea pig rescues offer boar dating in the UK

Welcome to the forum by the way, Wilbur is handsome
