Hi everyone, I was holding Eddie when I noticed what looked like dandruff all over him. He has no bald patches, no excessive itching, his skin doesn’t look irritated, just this dandruff.555E1D95-657A-4689-9FCA-76198260475D.jpegEA9037B9-877A-4ED9-B8F0-231A7E625636.jpeg18AEAC6A-A2E2-445C-A662-531DDD11489E.jpegFDED5F0B-C164-4F12-8049-EBC3D630E281.jpeg
does it look like a fungus? Is there any way I can treat it?
Thanks 😊

Sorry I can’t see anything 😳 🤓 someone else will be along soon.

Hi!

Sorry I can't see anything either.
Here is our parasite and fungal guide; check for hay mites eggs (chirodiscoides) but otherwise it may be just a little dry skin or skin flakes which should sort itself out. If in doubt, please see a vet for a hands-on examination.
New piggy problems: URI - ringworm - skin parasites

He doesn’t have any of the symptoms mentioned in the link, so I assume it is just mild dandruff. I will take him to the vet if I notice any changes.
Thanks Wiebke 😊

Also, do you guys recommend any guinea pig shampoos I can use for mild dandruff that are available in Canada (gorgeous guineas’ shipping is too expensive)
Thanks!

I wouldn’t wash him unless he is really grubby - it can strip their natural oils which you don’t want. Otherwise I don’t know any other shampoosnim afraid.
