Current consensus on Kavee Cages UK? Any alternatives?

Hi,

I'm having a bit of a stress out! I am moving to a bigger house and have been really looking forward to upgrading my piggies to bigger hutches. I always had in mind that I would get a Kavee Cage with a stand, however having seen some of their recent reviews on trust pilot, I am freaking out.

Other options I've stumbled across don't seem to tick all the boxes, e.g., larger holes in the cage grids, not delivering to the UK, and not having a lid.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would agree with Piggies&buns, we brought our original CC from C&C guinea pig cages, further grids we have purchased 2nd hand, or from Amazon- ensuring we have the correct size grids.
 
I have my C&C style cages on tables. I didn't get on with the stands. My grids are a mixture of different makes that fit together OK. I have grids across the top held up with extra reinforcement with cable ties to prevent the off chance jumping or climbing out. It means slower access, but a safer set up.

I am very happy with my songmics grids from amazon. They do some with bars as well. At one stage I made a stand out of grids that was a perfect size for collapsible storage boxes from IKEA.IMG20240215203408.webp
 
I did try the cages on stands for a brief time. Once cable tied it was very sturdy and I was certainly happy with it as a set up.

(However, I decided I prefer the cages on the floor, mainly because I use disposable bedding and I found it easier to step in the cage and sweep with a broom than bend over it and use a dustpan and brush!)

We have never used the CC stands, but have used coffee tables, and Kallax units with boards on top. In the summer- every pigs home is relocated to the floor, where it’s a little cooler.
