Cuddling?

So what is this exactly? what is the proper way to do that? I finally got him and out and had him in a towel in my lap(sheds bad) and was itching/massaging him and I was hearing purring so i take it that was good, but how do i cuddle him?
 
Sorry, but this question sounds really odd... it's a little hard to do an exact desciption on how to show affection to a pet.

Naturally you wouldn't hug a guinea pig like a person, they are way smaller, having them on your lap or chest, talking to him, stroking him ocr giving the ears a little scratch. I don't know if you have long hair bur some piggies like to burrow in it.

Cuddling is just a term for snuggling or being affectionate.
 
It all depends on the pet, it sounds like what you're doing with your guinea-pig on your lap is you way for 'cuddling' him. He sounds like he enjoys it, and i guess you would find some enjoyment from sitting stroking him.
 
one of my piggies will start squeeking and purring even before i stroke them. if i just take them out of the cage they get so excited!

When it's cuddle time I put the piggies on my lap on a fleece blanket. Then I stroke them or give them little piggy massages, if I'm lucky Amber piggy will lick me.
Most of the time they just get really relaxed, lay down and spread their little back legs out.
 
Just wanted to add - The first few times you cuddle your pig, he/she might be unsure and/or frightened. They like to feel secure so either have them close to you or have a little towel or blanket next to them. You can gradually increase the amount of time he/she is on your lap. A treat afterwards would be nice too. :)

PS - You might get peed/pooped on. rolleyes:))

A few of my girls like to snuggle under my chin. Charlotte will leap off my knee and scramble up my chest to get under my chin. When she is very happy sometimes she will lick me. Daisy likes to be tickled on the top of her head while sitting on my knee and Kizzy likes to be rocked in my arms like a baby.
 
Yeah I foudn out yesterday my boy loves to have his ears rubbed/itched, Just sits there and his head up like dont stop lol
