Has anyone else been hit by this latest round of covid? 2 of my children have tested positive today 😞 😷🤒 they seem to be worse this time has anyone else found this?

There’s been quite a few people around here either suffering with or recovering from Covid.
Some have been quite ill, others saying it was just like a slight cold.

Hope the children get better soon

I had it back in August. Luckily it just felt like a bad cold - I wouldn’t have even thought to test but it was just starting to make the news. I assume it was the current strain. Hope so - don’t want another bout 😬 Do hope your children feel better soon.

Yes! I managed to avoid it for the past 3 and a half years but I became ill on Saturday with what I assumed was a cold but very quickly realised it wasn't and I tested positive yesterday. I've been feeling really awful for the past three days - aching all over, cough, no appetite, feeling sick and exhausted. Slightly better today.

I heard on the local radio on Monday that this strain could hit people quite badly which is why they've brought forward the jabs for vulnerable people and old bods. I'm now in the vulnerable category so I've booked my jab for Friday at 1.30. My MIL hasn't had her invitation yet and she's 85.

I hope you all feel better soon those who have been unfortunate to be infected by this nasty virus.

I'm considered vulnerable due to diabetes but haven't had my invitation yet (I'm only 30 though). My 89yo bedbound nan had hers at home this week though!

I’m 42 and am classed as vulnerable as I have bad asthma and mental illness. My parents are both in their 70’s. We haven’t had our invitations but I asked at the doctors last week and our Doctors are doing Saturday clinics for the flu and covid jabs so we’re all booked in for 7th October.

If you ask at your doctors surgery, you may find they’re not advertising them yet but you can still book if you’re entitled to a flu and / or Covid jab x

I was due to have my flu jab today but have had to cancel it. The surgery say I can re-book once I'm covid negative. My surgery don't seem to be doing covid jabs this time

My husband had Covid 3 weeks ago and it wiped him out for a week. I’ve heard of so many people locally with Covid at the moment.

I've just tested positive ☹️ what a bummer. Now I'm going to have to let people down on Sunday which I don't like.

It's worse for me this time than when I had it Christmas 2021 - then it was just sniffles, this time it was a streaming cold yesterday and tight chest and no appetite etc today. I hope I didn't give it to any of my senior citizen friends on Wednesday 😟

Just had my Covid and flu jabs.

Hope you feel better soon @Qualcast&Flymo
That's good, hope you avoid catching it. I haven't a clue how I caught it, I don't think I've been with any people who had any symptoms.
My husband is waiting for his jabs, I do hope he hasnt caught it off me

What is this latest jab like, side effects wise? I was very ill after the Astra Zeneca, but then fine with the Pfizer, don't know anyone who had had this new one yet though.

Its a Pfizer jab this one. No side effects for me apart from a sore arm but then I did have the flu jab and the covid jab in the same arm. My arm hardly aches now 24 hours after. I took it easy yesterday afternoon and didn't do much and just drank loads of water.

I also had the pzifer this time ( along with the flu) all ok - I had one in each arm - both arms a bit sore but bearable - this was a week ago and all fine now

Me and my parents have now had our invitations but have ignored them as we’re already booked in. I was very ill after the first 3 jabs so am dreading this one as I’m usually ill with the flu one too and we’re having both. I haven’t made any plans for Saturday and Sunday just in case.

I hope everyone who has Covid is feeling better now x

I'm testing negative again as of yesterday 👍 I've rebooked my flu jab for next week but still don't know what's happening about the covid jab, the surgery say they'll contact me.
Hopefully you will have your covid booster at the same time - I was only booked in for the flu jab but was offered the Covid booster at the same time
Hope you’re feeling much better 🥰

My husband has his jabs tomorrow. I'm too young by 4 months I think 😀.

I tested negative for covid on Monday, but I'm not convinced. I can't seem to shake off the blocked nose and sore mucusy throat, which make sleeping difficult. My son has a bad throat now as well...

I’ve noticed that many people are now wearing masks again in the supermarket. Not sure if that’s because they think they are vulnerable to germs or because they fell that they are carrying germs (and therefore it’s a courtesy to other shoppers). But I’ve heard that there are several autumnal viruses circulating at the moment in addition to Covid.
