Junior Guinea Pig
I'm cultivating a lovely veggie patch, partly for the piggies. As a break from the endless amount of kale they are getting, can I feed them the courgette leaves?
Zucchini is great for guinea pigs to eat. It is best for them to eat it raw, and it is very nutritional containing low amounts of sugar, salts and sulphur. It also has a reasonable amount of vitamin c.I read somewhere that piggies cannot eat courgettes, so I would think that would include the leaves.

I don't know where you read that. Mine can enjoy it, took a while to get used to though. I think when they saw it they initially thought it was cucumber and then were disappointedbut they do eat it and no bad effects (apart from Izzy who will only eat the middle and leaves the skin lol)
I stand corrected - (said the man in orthopaedic shoes!)
Having read this thread just tried my two with it for the first time and they wolfed it down - piggy dustbins!
Yep mine who gobble everything down turn their noses up and don't even attempt courgettesCourgettes are edible, however, most piggies don't like them.
Wow! good stuff
Actually, since this post her ladyship Jemima LC-Peach has decided it's not to her taste and now rips the courgette from my fingers and throws it between her teeth on to the floor with quite an impression head flourish. Casran gets double.
