I paid 40 pound when I had my first boar neutered. I wonder if your local RSPCA might know where you can find the best value for money vet to have it done?
I have just paid £58 for Shaun to be neutered. That included pre-assessment check, operation and then two post-operative checks.
I think it was expensive by comparison to the postings above!
I have had three boars neutered by the same vet now and I have been pleased with the care they provide and how well the boars were afterwards. But it was dear!
To be honest i think i'd rather pay extra and know i was getting a guinea-savvy vet than get a cheap one with a not-so-guinea-savvy vet. with the 2 after checks and the pre check included i think you got quite a good deal!
£26. My vet didn't plan for post op checks - but did discuss common problems such as absesses and hernias, what they would look like and agreed i would come back as soon as a problem came up.
For most areas for a PDSA voucher you need to be on benefits. If you have no luck RSPCA may give you one my local branch does not require you to be receiving benefits they just want to stop unwanted litters
