Christmas Decorations

It was always the tradition to put the decorations up on Christmas eve when I was a child. Christmas gets earlier and earlier, I'm fed up with it by the time 25th arrives.

Yes, traditionally they went up on Christmas eve and stayed up for the 12 days of Christmas and came down on 12th night. Nowadays most people seem to celebrate Christmas throughout advent instead and take their decks down on new years or sooner. For a long time it made me sad and I resisted but now I embrace it more and am happier. Not that I have put any up yet! But today I have opened up the Christmas box!

I managed to put up our 2-ft LED Christmas tree. Sorry about the weather station and the smart meter, I can't remove it haha. I'll continue decorating in the following days.

Finally put up the new garland in the conservatory/dining room today, the tree and mirror garlands have been up for a week or so now but hadn't worked out how to put up the new one till today.
I still don't really feel very festive but I am trying!

We don’t decorate the cages but do have Christmas lights in the rooms (overnight in my son’s bedroom and daytime in my ‘office’ space next to the kitchen). While away visiting my sister our pet feeders decorated Chips! Meanwhile the cats have been removing and playing with the tree decorations
