Generally we don’t bother with decorating the house for Christmas and I haven’t replaced our artificial tree since it died a couple of years ago - but I love seeing what other people do.

Please share pictures.

I do put up a Nativity scene though.
This year I have a new one thanks to the Potteries GPR Christmas Fair.

We went and got our tree yesterday. It's in the garage and will be put up on Sunday. I'm excited as this is the first year Jessica really understands what is going on.
Saturday we have our annual memory tree decorating at my aunt's house where she has baubles for all the loved ones we/ they have lost and the kids help decorate. Last year Jessica had an awful chest infection and we ended up down A&E with her so we missed out

I'm wondering how an arrtificial tree "died" @Merab's Slave ! ;)

When I was a kid, my father used to decorate our house for Christmas only a few days before, with lots of paper streamers and chinese lanterns as well as a tree. I kind of miss that, my hubby isn't into decorating the house at all beyond a tree and cards. We usually put up the tree on Christmas Eve as we have a family birthday on the 23rd. My decorating skills aren't up to much though, so I'm not sure it would be worth me sharing a picture when I do it :xd:

I know this sounds curmudgeonly, but I really don't like all the decorations up around the place so long before Christmas, it makes the day itself lose its specialness...

It was always the tradition to put the decorations up on Christmas eve when I was a child. Christmas gets earlier and earlier, I'm fed up with it by the time 25th arrives.

Ours will go up this weekend and I will be sure to share pictures.

We make it a point every year to go as colourful as possible, as the Swiss really only do white (cold white is preferable, but warm white is becoming more accepted).

I am sure the neighbours hate us but the local kids love it!

I’m afraid I go mad for Christmas! both us and the guineas get advent calendars and we have multiple trees. 2 small articficial ones for either side the fireplace and then a large real one in our living room. Plus a wreath. even the fish have special aquarium ornaments which are Christmas themed! starting this weekend, the real tree won’t go up until nearer the big day to make sure it lasts. Can’t wait..will post pic…

I usually put our trees and decorations up on the first weekend in December…but…the first weekend in December has arrived too quickly for me this year! I’m just not feeling it yet!
I'm hoping that now we are rehearsing our Christmas performance with the children at school and the decorations in school will be up either today or tomorrow that i will be more into it and can do our trees at home next weekend.

I do absolutely love it and go all out - a Christmas tree in the living room and one in the hallway, lights and decorations inside and outdoors!

I fully get that. MrA would be happy if we put up the tree on 24th and took it down on 26th. I don’t usually get my tree up so early but running a client based business from home, the clients expect to see signs of Christmas so even MrA has had to relent and get the decorations out of the loft earlier than he would like.

I need to find a table top tree this year, because this is the first year that wee Lu here is blind. She wanders about sometimes before settling to sleep, (I watch her from bed on the piggy/Lu cam downstairs). I worry that she might poke her wee eye. Here she was when she was able to see me. Oh I miss the look in those eyes 😢

OH she’s amazing! Poor little girl, you are a very kind and considerate owner. She is absolutely gorgeous!

The various bits lost their fit and artificial fir

I agree with those who say they don't like putting up Christmas decs too early and I haven't done anything yet. But here are a couple of pics from last year/year before. After the tree photo was taken my friend gave me a guinea pig dec just like @VickiA's so of course that will be taking pride of place this year :luv:

I usually get out the Nativity scene about two weeks before Christmas but the tree only goes up a few days before but then they are left up until Twelfth Night. The tree is an artificial one that I bought in 2002! You will see that the Nativity scene has something missing? Yep, no shepherds. However I'm really excited this year because I've managed to buy a replacement shepherd, a lamb and an(other) angel and they will be included this year .

Love the Nativity scene.

Got my shorter tree - off the ground so little recently blind Lucy dog doesn’t poke her eye. I’m just not in the mood this year for fuss, so this is it. One little heart decoration - just a reminder to love.

Happy Christmas xx

Timmy the Christmas Mouse has made another appearance :D With thanks to @Betsy ;)
I read your first post as your tree being 12' tall! Was wondering how it would fit in a house, maybe in the stairwell? Or maybe you live in a castle? Then in your second post i realised it was just 12''! 🤣🤣🤣 Made me laugh, a lot🤣
