Christian was at emergency vet appointment this morning!

if I was in the op's position I think I would be pushing for it too as it sounds like he could really benefit from better pain relief

I did try for a larger amount but she insisted it was correct. I mentioned it again this morning but she wouldn't increase the dose as he was moving his back legs a bit which was more than he was doing yesterday. He is trying to move them but they just don't respond quickly enough.

Poor little chap, if there's inflammation squashing a nerve then getting enough anti inflammatory medicine is very important for a good recovery! When does he see the different vet? I would never advise anyone to ignore the advice of a vet but I think the general consensus is that cat loxicom is safe at a much higher dose than you were prescribed so if it was me I'd give more if he's in pain, but that's just my opinion and I am not a vet and I wouldnt want to encourage anyone to not listen to their vet!
Healing wheeks anyway, you are a great piggy mummy so will do your best for him x
He see's the different vet on Wednesday at 10.45.

Its anoying that i have half a bottle of dog loxicom that Dot didnt need, but i have to keep it incase anything with her op does go bad soon. Else id send you it

I hope you're able to get decent pain relief from the next vet. Leonard is on dog metacam, will be for the rest of his life, so some vets are still giving it out. Fingers crossed for his continual improvement ❤

Come on little guy. you kick them legs.
Good to know he has little movement. x

I tried my best to get dog Metacam for Christian but the vet insisted I should have cat. Funny that when Velvet had her UTI a few weeks ago the other vet (Auxi) said that cat Metacam was useless for piggies and that Velvet was fine on 0.6ml twice a day for 7 days . I said that I thought it was quite a hefty dose and Auxi said that she had just been on a course and was told that piggies can tolerate Metacam better than was originally thought. I did mention this to the vet I saw yesterday but she ignored it.
Yea it’s really difficult, it’s a bit like that at my vets. One good one and one that’s a bit... eh. It can be incredibly frustrating!

Hopefully Auxi can sort it all out for you!

It sounds to me like Christian is able to move his back legs a bit.
Doesn't it mean there is a chance he will come around? He is only 3 years old after all and will heal better than older piggies.

Unfortunately we are tied by what the vets will do. You tried and you also have an appointment with the other vet. Hopefully the other vet will be more willing to consider your request for Christian

Here's some piccies of Christian all cosy on his very boarly pink blanket. :yikes::yikes:And also the HUGEST sperm rod EVER.:yikes::yikes: He must feel much more comfortable without that! There was still more after I had removed that but it spurted out in liquid form:vom: now I have had to wash my tablecloth before I had boar glue on it forever.

Goodness Christian, and you a poorly boy!
Get well soon sweet boy. X
I know it's huge! Well he's had no girls to hump for around 2 days now and that is clearly what happens when you can't spread your love around. Clearly, I shall have to check his nether regions more frequently in future. I do check both boys every few days.

I'm sorry that Christian is unwell .I'm sure he feels alittle better after been relieved of that sperm rod.my eyes are watering ! i hope he has a speedy recovery .

Came down this morning for Christian's 6am feed and saw him at the food bowl before he dived for cover.:) So I think I'll leave the 6am feed and do the 9am feed a bit early as I have to be somewhere at 9.30. He did take 9.5ml at 2am this morning. Yes while most of you were in The Land of Nod 🛌 I was syringe feeding a piggy. I'll just give him his meds at 7am.

So pleased he’s eating. And diving for cover! Hope he’s feeling better with that nastiness removed! :)

Glad to hear that Christian is eating. Healing vibes being sent your way handsome fella. xx

I don't know how I've managed to miss the rest of this...

Heaps and heaps of healing vibes from me, Smokey, Bacon and the rest of the clan! (That's a lot of healing vibes!)
