Cheaper but good food

Now i have 8 guinea pigs I'm finding it quite hard with there food. I used Burgess excell for Meg, Squirrel and Lincoln. I'm still using it but the new boys Bodie and Doyle wont eat it and the little ones are on pets at home food (as the pellets are smaller). Its expensive and confusing with differnt foods and wanted to know whats the best food to get. I want something thats good for them, small pellets and not to expensive.
Tesco's food seems to have had good reviews. How much is there food? Any help would be great. (if you could add price with the food you recommened that would be really helpful)

The Tesco purple bag is around £3.19 for 2kg I think. Mine seemed to like it. Ours are on Gerty guinea carrot and cranberry at the moment which they seem to like and it's £18.66 for a £12.5kg bag from vet uk but you have to pay postage unless you order £39 worth from them I think.:{
Wagg guinea pig crunch is one of the cheaper guinea pig foods around and is around £11 for a 15kg bag I think.
 
Wagg Crunch is about £11.99 here for 15kg. I feed mine Bearts Golden Guinea mix which is about £9 a sack, mine get through a sack in less than a week, 20kg!

I feed mine on ''Guinea Pig Crunch'' from my local farm.
15 kgs for £9.45
They absoultely love it with no wastage and I love the smell xx>>>
 
I have my eight on Burgess pellets but often add some Wagg crunch in or Tesco purple bag. I like pellets as there never is any waste.
 
Another Golden Guinea feeder here - mine do very well on it.

The only way to save money on feed is to buy it by the sack - buying in small amounts really bumps up the costs.
 
I can't quite remember the name of the guinea pig food I'm buying just now - I get it in Makro and it's £1.99 for a 2kg bag of pellets. Sorry, I put it into a container so I don't have the bag to have a look at it. The girls love it though.
 
Blimey these are good prices! At the moment i am paying £18 for 10kg of Science Selective for the rabbits and the same for the piggies... It does last 2.3 - 3months but still!

Are any of these foods the complete pellets like Supa excel piggy food?
 
Pets at Home nuggets are plain pellets, but I don't *think* any of the others mentioned are. I believe they are all muesli/mixes.

I pay £18.99 for 10kg of Burgess. Lasts my 8 pigs about two months.
 
should i be feeding my piggies nuggets or muesli or both? They have gerty guinea pig food at the moment which they do eat but after reading the review i'm going to look for something different. Just need to know whether i should just buy a mix and/or get nuggets?

Nuggets stop selective feeding so less waste, if your piggies will eat them i would feed nuggets, or they may be like mine & refuse LOL My lot are on Wagg Guinea Crunch with readigrass mixed in :)
 
lol they eat most of the food they get. only leave a few little bits and never just one type of thing so will just keep them on the mix i think! thanks
 
Pets at Home Guinea Pig nuggets

Hi, I feed mine Pets at Home nuggets, they love it and there is no waste, except when Pepper decides to pee on them.:)) They go mad for the Readigrass and it smells so lovely. They also love those 4 green sticks, like cigars that you can buy in a packet for £1.99. They have herbs in them.:)
