my 2 new piggies hava fungal infections. It started a week ago when i noticed a small sore on one of their noses. Took her to the vet and he said to use otc fungal cream twice a day. It cleared up but yesterday the same pig had a nickel sized bald spot on her rump. This morning her sister had white flakes below her eye and thinning hair between her eyeand ear. Back to the vet. The vet is keeping them for treatment until it is gone (this was the rule since Petco is paying the vet bill. They were under "warranty" for good health). I want to make sure i am not doing anything to cause the fungal infections.

First, i do fleece bedding with uhaul liners. I clean poos twice daily. I change the fleece in the kitchen area every other day and full cage clean once a week. I wash on hot water with scent free soap and vinegar. I use the fleece flippers where you flip them mid week so they have a fresh side of fleece/uhaul pads too.

I did get hay fro Small Pet Select right about the time the fungal problem appeared. Could this be a problem?

I threw away all wood toys, boiled the water bottle pieces and food dish, cleaned the cage with vinegar and clorox wipes. Rewashed all bedding twice on hot and used bleach.

What else can i do to avoid fungal problems? Will they be prone to it more since they have had it in the past already? Should i bath them with antifungal shampoo every few weeks to prevent it? All advice welcome.
