Can piggys eat grapes

Hi Everyone

Just a quick question Are Guinea pigs aloud grapes? Have heard they can cause kidney disease. Thanks
 
They can eat grapes, mine tend to have half a grape each to nibble as a treat, each week. I am not mean, but I think they can cause problems in excess. I keep all fruit for treats to avoid 'the runs' xx
 
Esme has half a grape every few days same with apple but has a selection of veggies every morning and night. Tonight she had Tesco value stir fry :))

Grapes in moderation because they contain sugar and can be acidic which can cause a problem around guinea pigs mouths.

Nice as a treat though or when piggies are off their food.
 
Mine just get a grape each if I happen to have some in for me - haven't had any for a while. If they're well behaved they might get a bit of strawberry this week - I have some of those in for me!
