@Sian25 Yes, you can hang them over the radiators. That's what I did when I had the heating on, and it worked quite well getting them dry. I never actually tried them in the tumble dryer as I thought it would cost too much.
Even when dry they are quite heavy aren't they?

I've not actually received them yet @7squeakers. They should be arriving any day now so I don't know how heavy they are. Just hoping they work out okay because quite a lot of money to waste

:D Mine were quite heavy because of the size; 2 X 5 . @Sian25 I'm sure you will be delighted with your new liners. Even if you find the washing and drying too much, you could open them up and just use them as single layer fleece and towel. That's what I have done with a couple of mine. Cut one fleece cover in half and you've got two pieces of fleece! Use one whilst the other is in the wash.

@Sian25, not arrived yet, no, but that's because of a up my end! I was waiting for the invoice to come through, which was taking ages, which I thought was weird given how quickly all other responses were. Anyway, turns out she'd sent the invoice on the day, but it had gone to wrong folder in my e-mail, so I didn't notice it until nearly a week later. x_x So just when mine should probably have been being posted, they were probably only just being started. Oops! So you'll probably get yours first; let me know how they are! ^_^

@7squeakers., ooh, I hadn't thought about drying! =o We don't have a tumble drier or an outside space, so no washing line to hang on. Hope the radiators suffice!

Oh dear @Malice that's not ideal. I ordered mine on the 3rd and she said they will be made within 5 working days so they should have been made by last friday. Not sure what type of post they're sent by though but mine should be here by now I think

i ordered from ziggy two 6x2 liners just before xmas ,they have arrived.ive had several from ziggyi place my over stairs banister and they are fully dry in 12 hours!i do not have a tumble dryer..

@Sian25 no I still haven't yet, I think I'm gunna try making one first due to lack of funds lol.

I'd love to know what you think of yours though, are Ziggy's ones just fleece, towel, fleece then?

@Cavy Kung-Fu I they are just fleece, towel, fleece yeah. That would be good to make your own.. I wouldn't have a clue where to start. I'm not very DIY ha

Thanks @Sian25 just got my quote myself, think I might just go ahead and order although it's a lot of money to me for all the stuff I need haha.

@Malice I made snuggle sacks just fleece and made cuddle cups with wadding but through my experience, it's probably better for wadding in the sacks and some kind of boning for the opening, and using some upholstery foam for the cups as it add more support or my girls just trample over all of them and flatten them haha. I need to try out some more but haven't had the time or motivation over Christmas.

Think I'm gunna check the bank balance and go for it, total is gunna be about £104 though, eek!
hi.. sorry to hijack.. i make all may cage liners but i see you mentioned using upholstery foam for support - this is my problem too,,, has it washed ok?

@Sian25 I'm pretty new to this myself haha. I'm using towels just with fleece on top (not sewn, just placed) atm but I'm hopefully gunna make a liner with a mattress cover/protector instead of a towel. I just don't know the best way to make a cage liner tbh there are quite a few different ways people do it.

I haven't actually done it yet, I just got my foam the other day and I'm hoping to make them on the weekend. If the foam is properly sewn into the fleece I can't see why it wouldn't wash properly though!

i have made a few beds and snuggle sacks but the sacks just end up in the corner squished and the same with the beds as they don't have the support lol ! My cage liners are ok though ... not that hard to make .. i love buying different fleeces - which has become a bit of an obsession....

Me too haha I'm fleece obsessed now! :D Try fabric boning, like used in bodices. It's been a game changer for my snuggle sacks! The piggies still sit on the back of the sack when they feel like it haha but they go inside a lot more than they did before. My piggie beds have been floppy too, hence why I'm trying the foam haha. Not made liners yet though but I'm making some lap pads with towel soon and liners... Somehow lol.

@Sian25 I haven't tried a tunnel yet but I'd imagine it's tricky XD My girls like their willow tube too much, they will miss it while it's confiscated.

It's mad how when you have guinea pigs you become obsessed with things like fleece. I'm being so impatient waiting for these ziggys liners to come. I feel like a child at christmas time. Hay us also another obsession of mine.. Before I got my boys I never imagined that a box of green, sweet smelling hay would be so exciting!

Trust me..they are easy.. start with the lap pads, cage liners r the same just bigger ! I still have to look at a photo to make sure each layer is in the right place for when i turn it the right way round.. some have shrunk a little but had them now since may so been washed a lot!

I buy fleece for the piggies and my 11 year old daughter is like " mum i want that one "....

@Sian25 I know right! I got them some more hay today, took a nice long sniff of it before purchase XD I am the same with waiting for some toys to arrive for the piggies, plus the 2 strawberry beds a I bought before Christmas... I just got them a glass water bottle though that they have already started drinking from so a I think that's a hit! It's just a bit big for my cage...

Yes I'm starting off with the lap pads for sure haha. I'm sure I'll manage it but my sewing machine is misbehaving :( It might be something I'm doing wrong but I have no idea. The bottom thread is always getting bunched up and gets all caught up inside the machine... It's an old hand operated Singer 99K machine I believe lol.

@Cavy Kung-Fu did you get the glass water bottle with the little floating carrot in? Can't remember the brand name. If it's the same one, I was thinking of getting them as it would make cleaning the bottle easier as it can be soaked in boiling water unlike the plastic ones but I heard a few people say that they have stopped working and the piggies were unable to get the water out so that worried me. Let me know how yours goes

@Sian25 yes it is, it's called the Living World glass bottle I think. It worried me too but I posted on another thread on here and people have said it's been fine but I'll always keep an eye on the water lvls. They still have their plastic one in their cage (just in case they refused to use "something scary and new" which is what usually happens lol) but they ran right over to the glass one and have only drank from that since I put it in there! Success so far :)

My liners arrived today! Super excited! ^_^ I assume yours have got to you by now, too?

My liners arrived just before :yahoo: They were delivered to the next road instead of my house by the courier (no fault of ziggys) but the kind lady from the next road has just brought them round. I ordered 4 2x4 cage liners and 2 cuddle cups. Here is Milan demonstrating his new bed image.webp

And here is one of the liners (the dog is a bit obsessed too) image.webp

They feel lovely and would highly recommend ziggys piggies liners. They're just in the washing machine now and will wash and dry a few times then hopefully Monday I will be able to try them out in the cages

Just out of interest as I've never used liners with a towel core before (always used puppy pads and fleece over the top).. Are the liners okay to go straight ontop of the correx or do they need another absorbant layer underneath like puppy pads?

Is it literally just towel inside? If so I'll make my own as I've been collecting towels!

I don't really understand putting puppy pads down, I doubt you need them as the liner itself is supposed to be absorbent enough :)
