Cacau - Sharing experience about Heat Stroke

I'll defenitly discuss this with the vet. I'm also going to the clinic later today to visit Cacau and I'll take a look on his ribs.

Ah, so feeding every 2 hours is only during the day? Then during the night you and the piggie can have a pieceful sleep? That does sounds better than the every 4 hours, since I could only sleep 1 or 2 hours, because I had to get up all the time to medicate or syringe feed.

Yes, you feed more often during the day so you can ideally get 6 hours of unbroken sleep for yourself in order to keep up your own strength. It is easier to get up to 5 ml into a piggy in one go but often harder afterwards to get any further food in so you spend overall less time on feeding even though you are feeding more often. :tu:

The first rule for any carer is to ensure that you can keep going because only then you can look after another being; even more so when this is a marathon and not a sprint. Also make sure that you something to relax yourself and to tank up positive energy every day.

Do make sure you look after yourself as you need to be strong and healthy to enable you to look after him. When I used to syringe feed my Ted after a poor dental I did this for 6 weeks until I found a really good vet. I used to feed him from 6 am in the morning to last thing before I went to bed. Night feeds are really unsustainable for any more than a few days

Wishing you all the luck, hang in there, you have done so well

Thanks for all the support guys, this being the first time for me has been very daunting. There is still a long way to go with Cacau's recovery and I need to be ready for his sake and mines.
