That is looking really smart. Bet you are glad to have some floor back and I love the opening door side thing. Will have to come down again to inspect;) and learn more. I bet you had to make a lot of tea for your Dad.

How are the piggies finding their new set up?

Yep a visit and homemade cake please drool
Actually seeing as I'm coming over to you on Friday it should be me that brings cake this time, skip the homemade bit though!

Piggies took time last night getting used to their cages especially because I wheeled Tetley in and the piggies were all wheeking at the new arrival.
Salt got nose butts lots of times by Charlie as he was constantly at the bars that he ended up with a grid mark on his face.
Will all change again I'm sure once we know what's happening with Charlie, If Salt finds a friend, if Minty & Pepe can be re-bonded ?/

Bert & Ernie are next to sort out, and the new piggies that are coming in.

Oooh and I not only made cups of tea for my dear Dad, but I cooked him Fish & Chips too ;)

What a fantastic set up! Really like it. How do you make sure that the top cage stays on the table? I am so jealous. I'm reorganising my cages in the Easter hols and this has given me a few ideas. Unfortunately, darling OH is even more useless than me at diy, so no chance of getting this kind of table made! I'm having to improvise.

We put a screw in the centre of the conectors, and a tie wrap between grids too.
Have fun with cages, I love it!
I am not a crafty DIY person AT ALL but c&c is easy follow the basic 'how to make' on Guineapigcages

Very clever! I assume that is the ones at the back, as the front grids open in a door?

Can I borrow your dad please? rolleyes :))

All the grids/connectors on the table are screwed down, the ones on the floor aren't, but just held in place with cable ties round the legs.

apologies if someone already asked but where did you get the tables? they're the perfect size for me too, my current set up is like this:

but if i had a table i could get the bottom layer out like you instead of lying on my belly trying to clean and rearrange...rolleyes

The tables were home made using legs from B&Q

These arent my cages, but the pictures gave me ideas - thought they could be useful to you..

Maybe you should be putting a patent on your fabby design love x)

Of course you'll have to advise that a Cleo hoover is required too

That is an awesome set up!

I'd like C&C grids but the problem here is that we don't have a lot of space so need the cages to stack. I have 2 rat cages stacking on my piggie cage!

Mine is stacked with a rabbit cage underneath, its on wheels also.

(its 2x5 and 4 grids high)

Brilliant, thanks for the ideas! At the moment I could simply hinge the bottom grinds along the floor so they drop down like in your diagram so I won't need to spend any money for the time being. :))
I wanted to raise everything to lean in the bottom too but it blocks my window. I may make the tables at a later date as I think they look most secure.
Right, off to find my cable ties :))

Actually the top layer sits On a thick wooden top ( mdf) I could just attach legs to that couldn't I?! mallethead

I can't see why not!

The legs I had on my original table were 30cm (12inch) so a little smaller the the 14inch grid
http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/hardware...re-Leg-L130XW-White-H300mm-x-32mm-Dia-9281980

Now I have 500cm legs (almost 20inch) so the very top of the cage is 91cm (36inch)

Your window looks to be in the photo about 6 inches higher than the top of your cage, so the 50cm legs should bring the top of the cage up that 6 inch to the window?

Anyway have fun with your modifications, and look forward to photos ;)
