But there are so many of us who have suffered - or have kids who have. There must be more of us than the who do it.

I still fantasise about hideous deaths for people I knew ;D ;D ;D

this topic is really breaking up a strom :)

its not bullies, theres 20 people called populars, they pick on everyone who isnt a popular. they run around in packs of 5, and they just grav e it! :( these arent the best dais of our lives

Aww, Natalie, it's always the popular ones love. If you're not one of those, you seem to be bullied - we all know.

I think I need to speak up here a bit and defend the teachers who do care and do act against bullying.....

I know bullies make peoples life an utter misery - I myself was bullied through most of Primary and Secondary school for all sorts of silly reasons - chubby, glasses, clever, not popular - same old same old really.

I am a teacher myself now and myself and all the others I work with do everything in our power to try and stomp out bullying. I personally have a zero tolerance policy and the kids in my class know it.... At the end of the day though we are only human and we have such limited powers that as much as it breaks my heart stuff does still go on. Please don't tar us all with the same brush - we DO care and we DO try our very best to help as far as is humanely possible.

I believe you care, Kate, not just because you too hard a hard time, but because i know you :)

The problem is a lot of teachers don't know what to do. I think they are often scared by the bullies themselves. Some teachers only go in for it as job, not because they have a passion to teach or work with kids. My group tutor was like that. He blatantly said it was my fault for being the person I was.

Same here I try my best to keep a close eye on things at college, we do have on going issues - and constant 'incident' reports about behaviour including bullying. Ive had to deal with something today - just one comment aimed at one student by another but enough for me to get this students tutor to speak to her tomorrow as its just not on - all these 'little' comments add up.

Its hard, stressful work but we do try to work as a team to try our best to deal with the bullies and to try to get the groups to show respect for each other, this year is worse than ever but with weekly sometimes daily meetings and close monitoring of the students I feel we are trying our best.

I so wish it didnt go on but it does :(

::) maybe we should clear an island and dump all the bullies in the world on it, then, let them be bullied by bigger bullies, then they no wat it feels like. and then the biggest bully can be shot! ;D

I was bullied moreso at College than anything else, but I think I caused it as I like my cavies and I did look at cavy websites etc, but than it started more when I won some random award at college :'(

Bullying is not acceptable AT ALL in my books and I feel for those who are still being affected by it; big ((hugs)) to everyone.

Fluff and stuff
Clare xx
