Hi

If your not happy, maybe see if you can get in touch with Vedra at The Cambridge Cavy Trust, as your entitled to a second opinion.

Jaye

I'm on the Isle Of Wight ::) we've never had problems with these vets before, they've always been brilliant O0 i guess they're not experienced in breaks/dislocations in piggies! i've posted on guinealynx :-\

right, i'm moving her inside to a flat cage, but will let them all see each other every day. the people on the guinealynx forum think this is best, as you do O0 i do to really, i was just worried about stressing her. and if i'm not happy with it by monday, i shall be seeing the vet again! :tickedoff: my poor baby :smitten:

more :-* :-* :-* for Peony and big hugs for you Cavy Love, these little ones are such a worry arent they :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks M :smitten: well i moved peony against my instincts to a flat cage, due to a rather unpleasent message on the guinealynx forum that pushed me to do it, and she was really low and missing her mates (they are her babies (grown up) and she hates being apart, understandably). so i decided she needed to be with them. started to introduce again and their seems to be some tension and bertie keeps rumbling at her. last night, i have a feeling they didn't let her in the bed, luckily i put the heat pad in and she was lying on that. i'm going to swap their hutch with the girlies hutch, as that one has a bigger bed and no ramp, so she shouldn't damage her toe, and there is less scope for not letting her in the bed. they are not fighting, there just is some tension. :-\ poor peony :'( :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: i'm going to perservere but i'm cross with the person who pushed me to do it, i think i know my piggies best :tickedoff: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

More hugs for you CL dont worry about what anyone else says you know you would only ever do the best for your piggies, when you ask for advice that is all you want, there is so much conflicting advise about that you have to chose what you feel is best for your piggy, you would go mad trying to follow it all.

thanks M. that makes me feel better! :) i really would ALWAYS do what is best for my piggies, and when i ask for advice, i don't want people making me feel bad or suggesting that i don't look after my piggies right. most people on here are kind and helpful, i shan't be posting on the guinealynx forum again, they just made me feel really bad and pushed me to do something i didn't think was the best. luckily, they've excepted her back again. O0 ((hugs for Fugly)) :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Glad she is back with her friends again O0 O0

Fugly sends Peony big piggy :-* :-* :-*

Thanks O0 hehe! peony sends him piggie kisses back! :-* :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I don't see any nastiness in any posts there - the posts are to the point and they are trying to do the best for your piggy (are you in the UK and have them outside in the winter?). They really are right - she needs to be kept fairly still and warm to have a better chance at healing.

Well, maybe I'm too sensetive. But my piggies mean so much to me and i would always to the best for them. I felt that one comment was nasty, in that it presumed that i was making excusses and not caring for my piggie. i wasn't even making excusses.
i am in the UK, but they are in a heated shed, with each other (two others) and lots of hay. And as I say, i have moved her into a flat hutch where she can be with her friends, but not have to move as much O0

her toe seems to be a little stronger today, still swollen, but i think it's fusing now! hopefully it'll be all better soon :-*

well it's still swollen, but doesn't seem as separated so i think it's healing now :)

yeah, i'm so releived that it's helaing! i think putting her in the flat cage with her mates was the best idea O0
