New Born Pup
Hi everyone,
I have a poorly piggie at the moment and am looking for some advice.
I got home from work yesterday to notice that one of my piggies poo was very soft and watery and he was clearly in pain, making a horrible straining noise and was no longer pooing
I took him to the emergency vet and 2 hours and £145 later was told that there was no noticeable problems, his breathing and heart rate was ok, and he didn’t appear bloated orin pain from his tummy. She did say that there may be a fracture in one of his teeth meaning he might not have been eating properly so not getting enough fibre. I was given some recovery powder and fibreplex and off we went.
During the evening I noticed some blood and he was still making the awful straining noise. I couldn’t work out of the blood was coming from his bottom of in his wee. I’ve Taken him back to the vet today (my normal vet, not emergency luckily!) and she has diagnosed him with potential cystitis and has given pain relief and antibiotics.
however he is still struggling to poo and if his does manage it’s a big round clump and I can see he’s really trying to push it out. Is there anything I can do to help him/veg etc To give him? He’s not wanting to eat hay or pellets but will eat leaves/grass etc
sorry for the long post but this is my first poorly piggie and I don’t like seeing him in distress.
Thanks
