This looks like my kind of book. But I need to finish my current audiobook and read the one I bought on the kindle. I will add it to my list in the meantime.

If anyone is interested, I am listening to this:

I like Val mcdermid books, I love Ian Rankin - his Rebus series, actually I like any books that are dark, murderous and twisty! Not sure what that says about me!

Oooh resuscitating this thread!
I'm into fantasy young adult genres and have just finished Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. It's the first book in the throne of glass series, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I also recently finished Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and it's the first book to ever make me cry haha 🙈 I mean you can't let a reader get to know and love a character and then just
k*ll him off!
I'm now onto the second book which is called Iron Flame

Love a Thursday murder club - Richard Osman

I think they are quite an easy read and can see a lot of people I know in the characters.

Currently reading Prophet song by Paul Lynch
It was the booker prize winner 2023. Taking a little time to get to grips with the style of writing but good so far

I average a book a day so kindle unlimited is heaven for me. I have just started rereading my favourite Robin Hobb series, realm of the elderlings. Book 1 assassins apprentice.
I tend towards mostly fantasy and sci-fi but will read anything. I'm quite a fan of the Phillipa Gregory books too.

If you like fantasy have you come across Anne McCaffrey ?
She wrote the Dragons of Pern books, and others.
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series is very good too.

If you like a bit ‘off the wall’ fantasy Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series is good

My childhood was spent with Lessa and Ramoth! I have read everything she ever wrote and the legacy pern books written by her son.
Terry Pratchett, ditto

I’m reading Black City by Boris Akunin at the moment.
It’s part of a series of novels featuring Erast Fandorin, an investigator of murders and mysteries in late 19th century - early 20th century Russia.

I'm a big fan of the poet Agha Shahid Ali, he wrote ghazals. I'm doing my master's in creative writing, with a focus on poetry.

I also loved Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck, it's a real tear jerker. The Octopus by Frank Norris is a good American novel.

The Long Earth series by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter is a good sci Fi series about AI, evolution and parallel worlds. Highly recommend.

I've just started 'Love Blossoms at Puddleduck Farm' by Della Galton.

The main character is a vet based in the New Forest, the two main themes are her work as a vet and the various (sometimes eccentric) owners and their animals, plus romance.
