I've just had to make a MAJOR complaint to Bob Martins.
The drinking bottle they sell is the one my two boys use...and nearly had a serious disaster today :(

Barney was having a drink, and then the silver ball fell out just as he moved away. I was so lucky that:
1) I was there to see it happen
2) Barney moved away and didn't have the chance to potentially choke on it.

URGH.
I hope they take my 'kind, but angry' complaint seriously :(

Oh no!

Glad to hear your piggies are ok. I wrote to them recently about their hay (not very good) and they were actually really good about it! Although wrote to them about their little pet spot-on treatment, which they never replied to...

I have the colortone one (I dropped one previously, which cracked) but piggy-wise no damage so far for the past year!

I had several of these up until last year. I liked them as they didnt drip and my pigs seemed to get more water from them.
Last summer I had refilled the bottle and tightened the top too tight and cracked the neck so put a spare in and went to replace it.
Did so and went out for the day. I came home, it had been one of the hottest days of the year and Fuzzy was flaked out panting :...
I immediately thought he'd ran out of water but the water bottle was full?! I checked it and the ball was stuck. I freed it and fuzzy drank the whole bottle.
I felt so terrible that he'd been there all day without water :(
I now stick to the classic bunny ones, I've never had an issue with these.

I think their hay is horrible, the piggies dont think much to it either, never thought of writing to them though as i dont have a complaint as such and doubt they would so anything about it anyway.

I use the Classic Bunny water bottles and they have never faltered for me. I would recommend them.

I, well Bertie actually, needs a good water bottle. He plays with his, sort of pulls it up, and then watches it drip! He has a hamster bowl in there as well underneath...;)

I cant recomend you get a glass one enough. Ive got one with a double ball bearing thing in it. My piggies used to bite the spout of the old ones so ferociously it bent the end so it would constantly leak! This new glass one is SOOO much better (they sell it in P@H if thats where your headed) and they definatly drink more out of it. Its clearly stronger, as 3 months later and no broken spout!

Plus it has a cool rubber ducky that floats on top of the water to help me tell where the level is :))

I have one of these and it drips constantly! I have to have a bowl under it, which makes it less easily accessible to the piggies. Any advice, please?

I personally would try changing the type of bottle you have, I use the bunny classic ones :)

i've just bought the 'Living World' glass bottle from P@H, and it was actually not as expensive as i thought!

I think it's alot better than the bob martins one...
I don't have the floating duck though! I chose the one with the floating carrot :P

THANK YOU for your recommendation...

i have bought the Giant Bunny one too...just so when they do move outside they've got a water bottle for each level in their hutch :)

I have had the same happen to the Bob Martin bottle, only lasted a month and the silver spout came out when the piggies were drinking from it.

Highly recommend the Classic plastic bottles, i have never had a problem with these

Aww! They only had ducky ones when i went in! :)

The reason i went glass is because i was boiling a kettle while washing the bottles, and thought to myself "ill rinse it with hot water" when you pour boiling water on plastic, it melts mallethead ... ill never have that trouble again!

But i do think its great, nice long spout, very sturdy attachment system, i love it :D
