Hope Harry will be ok, I will keep my fingers crossed.
I worry about not being able to spot blood in urine with my lot as they are all bedded on aubiose and hay but I have cream bath mats out in the lounge so when they have floor time, if they peed on those I would spot any blood in it :-\ A bit hit and miss though.

Harry does seem to be improving, there is only a bit of blood now, he has only had 3 doses of antibiotics, I am not sure how long they take to work fully.
He has got wise though and it was a battle this morning to get the syringe in his mouth.
I am watching closely.
He got a bit of russel rabbit stuff stuck up his penis today, ouch, :o ,
I am going to save up and get some vet bed.

Hi Alfie,

Glad there is improvement. The antibiotic usually start to kick in after the 2nd dose.

The vet beds are worth the money, they will last for years.Have a look round the internet ,some places sell them quite cheaply. It is best to buy a roll which you can cut to size, works out cheaper than single mats.

Thanks Maryh

I am definately getting some, after the russel rabbit in the penis this morning.
I will trawl the net, I saw it on ebay once not sure if it was on the roll though.
thanks everyone I really do appreciate all the advice. O0

Hi Alfie, one of my girls had cystitis last month, she was put on 0.25mls of baytril for 5 days and it cleared up within 3, if you've caught it early there's a good chance the baytril will work, but be persistent if it doesn't, some take a while to shift. best of luck to you and harry :) x

Thanks.
His wee is lighter again today, we got antibiotic on Saturday evening, so today is really only day 3.
He is alot livelier and has been popcorning and chattering, something he hasn't done since we got him 4 weeks ago. :smitten:
He is being a devil when tryng to give him his meds though, decided he doesn't want it now. >:D
Thanks again.
Anne

I'm glad that he's getting better that's good news. It is recommended that they are usually on the antibiotics for at least 2 weeks, to be on the safe side. Urine infections are notorious for reoccuring.f your worried about the cranberry juice, giving them cranberries if you can find them is just as good.

Baytril is the hardest one to get down them, i don't blame them either have you smellt it? ew! Glad he seems perkier :) hopefully it will all be cleared up soon x

Today, we have clear wee.YAYYYYYYYY. O0 :smitten:

Thanks all, I can't tell you how relieved I am.
He's like a different piggy too.
Still affectionate but more lively and vocal and lots of popcorning.
Poor baby must have been ill since we got him.

Oh Anne, I've only just seen this thread - I'm so sorry Harry was unwell and you were so stressed out! :(

I'm glad Harry is much better, what a relief for you! :-*

Thanks Angel
It is a relief. Not had them long and already I can't imagine not having them.
