I have a dalmation with red eyes does this mean i should keep him inside?
Even with the pics I really wasn’t sure about Lily. Her eyes are very small but larger than would be expected in a ‘lethal’ (anopthalmic or micropthalmic - meaning no eyes or very small eyes).
I showed the pics to two friends who have a lot of experience with Dalmations and Roans and neither of them were sure if she was a lethal. One suggested that as she looks a bit thin she might be having some difficulty eating. What are her teeth like?
When you bought her, were there other pigs in the shop that could have been her brothers/sisters? Were any of these Dalmation or Roan (spotted or mottled pattern)? Have you seen Dals or Roans in this pet shop before; they could have come from the same breeder?
She has got to this age without any ‘special care’ and so, even if she is a lethal, she may be able to lead a fairly normal life.

If you are worried that she might be a bit underweight there is a useful section on www.guinealynx.com which talks about average weights of gps when they are younger and when they mature. If you think her teeth might need cutting watch when she eats. Does she break her dry food down into smaller pieces so she can eat them? Does she have difficulty picking dry food up or off the floor. Does she grind her teeth? Does she pull faces (like yawning) when she eats. These arr all classic signs that yyour gps teerth will probably need cutting. Hope this helps. Sorry I have no knowledge of these breed of gps. She looks gorgeous. I haven't seen one like her before (that makes her special).
