Bladder sludge procedure aftermath

Thanks so much, I guess this is why the forum is so valuable, everyone posts their experiences, good and bad and you’re right, may be exactly what another owner needs.
She is quite honestly the sweetest little pig I have ever had, she is so gentle and quiet and cuddly, and my first ever long hair too! We are really fond of her, I just hope she can make it through this and the blood is maybe just artificial and not something serious or to do with her kidneys. She is still drinking her water so fingers crossed.
Thanks so much everybody, will update after vet appointment. Xx

Update
Our lovely vet checked Pipsqueak all over once again, she has only lost 9 grams in weight so no concern there and the vet says this is just because of the reduced appetite because of her medicine and keep topping up with critical care.
The vet managed to express some urine from her and it was literally all red, she said it’s definitely just an infection and has given us a new, better antibiotic (co-trimoxazole).
Otherwise the vet said she is extremely pleased with Pip’s progress! Her bladder is all okay and the vet is confident that once this infection is all clear she will be absolutely fine! I can’t tell you how relieved we are. We asked the vet about glucosamine and she said she would normally only give for guinea pigs to help with joint pain but if there is positive experience online using it with cysitis the vet said go ahead it won’t do her any harm, just that she had personally never heard of using it this way. What do you guys think? I ordered Feliway tablets from Boots the chemist.
Thanks so much again everybody, I can’t believe she is back home and eating a little hay too.

You must be so relieved the vet sounds so positive. I've used Cystease successfully for several bladder problem prone piggies over the years. I believe it helped. My vet always recommended it.

That’s great news. I hope she’s soon on the mend.

Hi again everybody.

Unfortunately Pipsqueak hasn’t made it. After the positive news yesterday she went dramatically downhill tonight, despite all the syringe feeding, painkillers and antibiotics she didn’t make it. I have a feeling it may have been gut stasis in the end.
We are really heartbroken and exhausted, after getting our hopes up time and time again and doing everything we could it just didn’t work. We loved Pip more than anything, she was such a gentle wee sweetheart and brought so much love into Penny and Picnic’s lives, and ours.
Thanks again everyone. 💖

Oh, I'm so very sorry. You tried your best and she had a life of love and good care.
Popcorn high over the rainbow bridge sweet Pipsqueak ❤️🌈

Oh no I’m so very sorry. You tried your absolute best. Sometimes the call to the rainbow bridge is just too strong. Popcorn high over the bridge Pipsqueak.

Oh I’m so sorry. You really did pour all your love into helping her. Sleep tight little Pipsqueak 🌈❤️
