What do people think to this cage. Its the biggest i can find. Cant really buy a c and c because i stay away and transport my guinea pigs over christmas. Not far but i have a small car and limited room where i stay. This cage splits in 2 pieces. And i think it might be ok for my 2 guinea pigs. I have a young boar who will be getting neutered asap. And then i will be housing him with my older sow

I plan to use both ends as a house each. With food towards the middle. And i may make a wooden hay loft too. The section you see at the end is part of the cage and is oprn to go in. But does have a slide down grid. I guess its a detacheable carrier

I love that cage and would have it myself if I had the space not to have a two tier
Thats cool.atleast i know its good now. I feel like such a cruel guinea pig owner. I have 2 caged seperatly but they are next door to each other. I have tried floor time together and they really get on well. But i had to stop because i got told how fast they can breed. My only worry is if i try bonding them I'm stuck with this cage. I still have to get my boar neutered yet

Fingers crossed that the neutering and bonding goes well although I’m sure both will be fine :)

I cant wait to get them together. Dot loves burnie. Burnie is dominant over her but she accpets it. He grooms her ear through the bars of the cages. And she is allways climbing up looking for him
Ear licking sounds like a very promising sign for a good future bond :)

At the weekend i will be cage shopping and ordering if i decide on one that is good enough. I do like the ferplast 160, but have just found it has only side access and not top. I really want top. I'm thinking maybe a midwest cage now.

Then after i have the cage, i will need to get burnie neutered. May take a while to get a day off work, I'm going to try getting a friday off, so i have the weekend to look after burnie. Hopefully he wont need it.

When it comes to bonding, I'm going to need advice on here, i will probably be posting some youtube videos so people can judge how well its going. When it comes to bonding i am clueless lol and neutering. I have had a neutered boar before but i wasnt his owner when it was done

Wiebke will be the best person to help you bond. She has written some bonding guides at the top of the behaviour section and I’m sure when the time comes and you write a bonding thread, she will help you out as well as the rest of us of course :)

Thankyou claire. I'm going to be nervous the first time i leave them living together. Incase of a fight when I'm not there. As i have said before they have been out on floor time together quite a bit. But i now know better not to do this without burnie neutered. They get along well apart from if burnie wants to go where dot is, he has his way and she has to leave that area.but its not looking aggressive, and he didnt always do this. Tjey did graze together and he nibbles her ear kinda like grooming. She did spray him with pee lol. Thats bout it

Before i had burnie, i had a neutered 7 year old boar called sky. I tried bonding him.with dot when she was younger, he would lunge with his teeth out at her, so i gave up on it, he also did the same with his brother a few years back. He was so layed back with people, but hated every pig he met
