Best shampoo For piggies?

I live in the states and I would like to know what would be the best shampoo for washing my baby? She keeps clean but sometimes she lays in her own mess and she smells a bit (shes learning to go in the corners on her own but she is just a baby so shes forgetful).

www.gorgeousguineas.com sell a superb range of piggie shampoos, a lot of people in the US order from them with no problems and are so happy with the products that they don't mind having to order from UK!

However, I understand that it is not practical for everyone. Four Paws Bunny Bath (if they still make that?) is one shampoo that comes to mind for those in the US.
 
Thanks! I used to use shampoos that were OK for kittens, didn't know if there was anything better and really, I don't want to hurt my baby. I'll look for the four paws shampoo monday!
 
An organic, natural shampoo free from sodium/ammonium laureth/lauryl sulfate from your local health food shop (check the ingredients list - the fewer the ingredients the better). These chemicals are known skin irritants and are in most commercial shampoos for people and probably pets too. The company called 'Jason' are usually good for nasty-free shampoos.

If you get really stuck, a paste of baking soda is great for washing hair (yes really!).
 
I agree with Claire. I only bathed my piggies for the first time on Tuesday. I bought some Johnsons baby shampoo to use. They now smell lovely, their coats look shiney and their fur is super soft.

Make sure they are bone dry before they go back outside (if they live outside, and its cold where you live). I used the hairdryer, which they hated, to get the worst of it dry and then put them in their enclosured for about 6 hours until I was sure they weren't damp or anything.

I do have a question though, which might not get answered. I use Aveda shampoo myself, its made from plants and flowers etc. Very good for human hair. I wasn't sure whether to use it on my guinea's though as it is quite strong smelling and I wasn't sure if that would mean it could be harsh on them. Has anyone ever used this or know whether its a good idea to keep away from it or what?

this stuff is great! GG is the only stuff i use to wash my boys,the come up very shiny and soft and smelling great x
 
I've mainly used baby shampoo in Griff as he's only just 5 months old. For adult pigs, I've often used a 2 in 1 dandruff shampoo/conditioner, which lathers quite well. However, Lush solid shampoo bars have to be the most wonderful product for producing a soft-fresh smelling pig.

Lush products aren't tested on animals. Well actually, I have tested them on animals and pronounced them wonderful! :-)
