Dougal is about 4 minths and settled here well in the last 2 weeks. He's quite a confident boy and seems to like lap time. After eating his veggies on my he usually starts popcorning on my lap in a very crazy way literally turnini somersaults! and generally seems incredibly happy. After that he wants to explore, me, the sofa and nibble my hand/arm 78633633_513493032710867_3112785265832230912_n.webpDougal first week.webp
etc and basically is VERY lively. Just looking for a bit of reasurance here, have I fotgotten how lively babies can be? or have I got a piggie luny?

When she was a baby Ruby would run around and popcorn so hard that she would also do flips and fall over.
We always made sure she had a large pile of fleece blankets in one corner fo the cage and she would go crazy in them.

Thanks, I'll relax and wait for the storm to pass lol

You’ll miss it when he gets older and stops!
My boys are heading toward two years old and the only thing they get excited about is food these days! They do still do zoomies and popcorn but not as much just for the sheer fun of it 🙁
I'm sure you're right ♥️

One of my four-month olds will go head-first into a snuggle snack until none of her is visible and then start popcorning -- with the result that we have a bouncing, flipping fleece bag! At some point an upside-down leg will stick out and that is quickly followed by nose and head, the right way up, as she emerges, totally unscathed. Quite something to watch!

When my two wear young, they would leap up to your shoulder and nibble your face, eye lashes, ears. Want to explore the bedside table next to me. Now when I get them out in the bedroom, they just lay down and only move if a bag rustles. But saying all this, they are both much more interesting when out on floor time as adults, because they are confident enough to explore now

Very normal! Enjoy these times they pass so fast :)

is there a hedgehog equivalent of a zoomie?
Not as far as I’m aware, but they don’t half shift when they want to! :)) I’ve noticed them self anointing, which is when they find a new scent and spread it al over themselves. Whilst they do this, they can get in all sorts of funny positions and roll/fall over which can be amusing to watch. I had 22 hoggies to sort out yesterday, which took me over 3 hours. Then I had to go and do a 12 hour shift 🙈

Babies are super excitable. Once one of my kids commented that baby Leela was more excited about nothing than she had ever been about anything! LOL!
