I would be grateful for advice on whether you recommend pre wetting Aubiose when using it as bedding for guinea pigs.

Answer :

Unless your guinea has a severe respiratory problem then I wouldn’t worry about wetting the Aubiose. it is dust free so we only recommend wetting it in these circumstances. My rabbit used to sneeze on shavings but since being on Aubiose I haven’t heard her sneeze once .

Thanks for this. I was supposed to pick some up today but their order didn't arrive so am hoping for tomorrow.
 
So I picked a bale up on Saturday. I'm really pleased that it feels much softer than I'd imagined and not really sharp. I can happily put my hands in it without fearing splinters.

I've only used it in the litter trays I have in the corners of the girls fleece lined c&c so far and they are kicking it about a bit but it seems fairly easy to get off the fleece.

I had to decant part of the bale (used an old bag that the hayforpets hay was delivered in - very handy!) to make it easier to tie it shut between uses. I seem to have emptied loads out without it going down very much.

@Davey-cavy how big is your c&c that you use Aubiose in? How often do you do a full change of it and how long does a bale last you?

I don't have a c&c I've got a ferplast 140 with a run attached to it. I do a full clean out once a week but it never smells. I cant say how long a bale last but it seems to last for ever!

Whenever I get a delivery of hay from Hay for Pets, I decant the hay into a material bag straight away . I daren't keep the hay in the plastic bags but I too have found the plastic bags very useful - I use mine to decant Fitch into

Jus just to add the auboise is only in te ferplast base I have towls with a shower curtain under the run but they do most of the mess in the cage.
 
@PiggyOwner i use my hay so quickly with 8 piggies that I find I can risk leaving it in the bag but I do keep meaning to get a pop up fabric laundry thing like mycuteboys uses.

@Davey-cavy sorry don't know where I got that idea from then that you had a c&c. I will try and keep a note of how long this bale lasts for interest.

I'm just about to buy a new bale at the weekend so I will keep tabs too!
