Are there any Guinea pig Breeders?

We are pro rescue forum and do not supporting breeding in any way. There are no breeders on the forum and we will not recommend any.

The best way to get some piggies is to find a rescue centre. That way you can ensure your piggies are healthy, correctly sexed, properly bonded and not already pregnant due to failure to separate in time.

If you are going to rescue then it is best to contact them before buying cages etc. A rescue will need to approve your set up prior to rehoming so you want to buy something in compliance!

If you cannot get to a rescue then a pet shop is the next best idea as that way you will at least have consumer rights in the event of illness.

I recommend the Feet out Friday thread for maximum adorableness ❤️

Welcome to the forum :)
It might be handy to familiarise yourself with the Forum Rules
Unlike other websites and forums, these are definitely worth a read. They give lots of personal safety tips, like not using your full name as a username and how to change this if you need to.

I hope you can find all the answers you need on this forum- there are plenty of brilliant rescues around in the link above, especially if you're willing to travel.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!. I'm getting a 4x2 c&c cage and want to eventually upgrade to a 2x6!. My sisters school had a litter accidently so they have offered us 2 piggies for free so i might take them up on that as there living situation is quite bad and I feel really bad for there piggies!

Go in with your eyes open!

Are you thinking of getting two girls or two boys?
Have they checked their sexes?
How old are the pups?
Have any boars been separated from sows in a timely manner? If you get two females, and boars including any baby boars weren’t separated you could risk the sows already being pregnant. Baby boars need to be removed by the time they are 21 says old or 250g in weight whichever comes first.

A 2x4 is fine for two sows but can be too small for two boars.
Any change in cage size constitutes a change in territory so you need to go about expanding any cage carefully.
