Apparently strawberries are evil 🤨

These two like blueberries too. They didn’t like mango either. Isn’t leek not allowed @Pigwhisperer

I’m curious to know if any pigs like courgette!

Mine won't go near courgette! Not even a little nibble. I don't know how they know they don't like it because they've never tried it. Must be the smell

I tried mint once, I too got the reaction where poor Sam actually backed away! I’m still not sure he’s forgiven me for that ha ha

I checked last night and kiwi fruit is also evil (except for Jon of course).

Melon had a bit more of a mixed reaction, only two ate it but the others had a good sniff of it before walking away

Nibbles LOVES babycorn but now turns her nose up at spring greens. She also seemed to enjoy the blueberry i gave her last weekend. Going to treat her to a strawberry this weekend. Am i right to limit it to 1 small piece of fruit a week or can they have a bit more? Speedy isnt too fussy she will happily eat the spring greens that nibbles no longer likes although she wasn't a fan of the blueberry!
Yes to fruit once a week, or even less often. I give mine a bit when I remember which is maybe once a month if that 😳
They turned their noses up at mango as well. And tarragon! And they don’t want the slices spring greens. I bought a pack once and they wouldn’t touch it. Soon as I went back to the unsliced they ate it fine 😒

Chutney won’t touch mint. If I try, I get glared at. Or he’ll reverse away as fast as he can. Sprout didn’t like bell peppers much when I first got him, but now he loves it. Neither of them care much for carrots. Blueberries are much loved, but they don’t get them very often.

Not tried mine on courgette yet, but they do like strawberries. We give the top of the strawberry with a bit of the stalk.

Come to think of it, there's nothing they HAVEN'T eaten yet! :xd:

That’s good @TheThreeCavies! Would be interesting to hear if they eat courgette 😀 and I meant sage not tarragon. It’s a good thing too as it smells hideous!! 🤢

@Sonnet mine went through a phase of not eating pepper! They’ll eat cucumber but generally leave it till last. And I have to cut the slices in half :own:

I do find it fascinating how each piggy or piggy family have their own tastes and way of telling us what they like and don’t like.

They’re fascinating creatures. I’ve noticed they’re more chatty these days as they wander round their cage. And they always look for interaction of some sort from us (read head rub or food 🙄) when we pass by the cage. I like to just stand and watch them sometimes.

Piggle and Puggle thought watermelon was evil until they saw Theo eating loads of it on sunday night... now its their new favorite :) same thing with red peppers!

Yes today I served 1 small piece of watermelon per piggy, then Piggle wanted Puggle's piece and they had an argument and knocked it over near the playpen divider... so Theo wanted that piece too so I had to serve everybody extra just to keep the peace! I have naughtily over-indulged the piggies today (it didnt help when human daddy came home with a bag of spinach and started sprinkling that in the playpen too) but I'm telling myself we need to feed Theo up before his operation as he was underweight at his first vet check 3 weeks ago... he definitely isnt now though :)

One of my guinea pigs LOVES yellow pepper but the other won’t even sniff it yet loves red and green. But that guinea pig likes cucumber and kale while the other doesn’t as much. To the point he steals cucumber out of the other’s mouth.
They both seemed to like watermelon and carrot.
I can already both hand feed them when it’s handling time but they won’t come to me in their cage yet.

My lot just eat anything I give them. Not had one thing rejected yet (except mint was evil last year and this year they love it)

Well today the strawberries divided opinion equally. Sylvia and Holly were thrilled to eat double portions rejected by Mabel, Poppy and Ralph. Mabel sniffed it like I’d offered her poison and backed away shaking her snout to get the smell out of her nostrils.
And in the fosters’ cage Melody happily ate her Mum Louise’s portion after Lou lifted it out of the bowl and placed it to one side with the trash.

:)) my two just ignored the strawberries, trampled right over them like they didn't exist in an attempt to get at the "good stuff".

Well I put some basil in their bowl this morning and they went straight for the pepper! In fact Toffee couldn't get back to her corner quick enough when she got her bit!

Will see if the basil has gone when I get home.

Silk did that too - but Clover nommed it up. They are like that with most herbs - same thing happened with parsley and coriander (cilantro).

As above I will give them a bit but I'd bet a day's wages I'll get the :yikes: from Silk and the :clap:from Clover.

aister Gave me mint for the boys a while ago. Toffee liked it but Fudge sniffed and took in mouth then dropped it and wandered off
Lucky you @Betsy it is easier when they’re not picky. I gave them carrot as a treat yesterday.

Just found out that all 3 of my piggies think blueberries are evil. I hid some in treat bags and they were all carefully removed and kicked into the the poop corners :)

Mine all love strawberries and hate blueberries.
They discovered today they love watermelon.
Merab couldn’t get it down fast enough.
Jemimah ignored it at first until she started licking the juice off Merab’s chin then she decided she also loves watermelon.

Theo loves watermelon so much he scared me half to death on Tuesday after his plum fairy op- he was sleeping and I could see red sticky stuff near his back end... total panic I thought he was bleeding or peeing blood... turned out he'd hoarded all the watermelon then decided to take a nap on top of it!

I can see how that would cause a scare!
He was just making sure that his watermelon didn’t disappear

😂😂 safeguarding!
Mine liked blueberries the one time I bought them. In fact we did too. I’ll have to buy more sometime.
