Oh yeah, and about the testing being done on parishioners. If you read through the pro-testing forums (they aren't as barbaric as you'd think) theres 25% of the people with the same argument.
Sometimes I wish that these people did get tested on, but then I get all sympathetic for the murdered and such. It's terrible, I need to stop being so soft ::) ;)

ALL products have something that's been tested on animals in the past in them. Even Body Shop Products, so you can't actually be 100% animal testing free if you wash, wear make up, take medic in.. live, basically. But they've banned animal testing for cosmetics since 1998, which is brilliant. I'm sure it'll be totally banned. They even need special permission to legally test on animals now, and only get granted in special circumstances. Plus it costs loads. Theres even meat being developed now in test tubes, so a animal won't have to die for people to be able to have a kebab. :)

Hmm - so what is BUAV certification then?

i used to be 100% against animal testing but since being diagnosed diabetic and knowing the insulin i depend on has been tested on animals my views have softened a littl and i'm now able to see both sides of the argument.
i live quite near to a research lab and even applied for a job as a lab technician until i saw the way the animals were kept and was subjected to the attitude of some of the staff they don't seem to care how many animals they use in there tests.
i personally am vegetarian and i buy only Buav approved toiletries and cosmetics but i dont feel i can contribute to the whole stop animal testing campaign as without animal testing i would'nt be here to talk about it in the first place/

It means the actual cosmetic wasn't tested on an animal, but components in it will have been in the past. I don't know much about it like I said in my first post, so don't take my word for it. ;)

I think the BUAV "Rabbit And Stars" logo covers finished product AND ingredients - at least I hope so as I use Dermalogica for this very reason

a buav logo means the producy and none off it's ingredients has been tested on animals int he last five years but as smileer said all ingredients will have been tested on animlas at some point

I am going to say something very stupid,,, i honestly didn't think animal testing went on anymore?

Unfortunately yes it does - millions and millions of animals. And probably all the countries doing their own research in the race to find cures for everything.

Is the ban just this country, Europe or worldwide? Wondered if you knew. Just thought if it was this country, they'll just go elsewhere ...
