After last night I have decided that guinea pigs offer an alternative to a washing machine. Last night was the second treatment of lice'n'easy for the caravanning cavies.

Suffice it to say that I got VERY wet.

Oh, can I ask why no one on the forum warned me that piggies shake themselves like dogs when left covered in shampoo, or is it just ours. I was snuggling them one at a time for the 5 mins the shampoo had to stay on and when they shook themselves it went everywhere. I was then looked at with an expression that said "tough, we suffer you suffer."

Look on the bright side Steve, atleast any lice lodging with you will be killed off :))

Oooops....forgot to mention the shaking! :))

I suppose next time if you wear whatever you need washed then you can kill two birds with one very wet stone.....

You never asked, we could have told you that..... :p

I allways towel wrap any piggies that have to sit for five minutes with shampoo on to stop them shaking the water off and to keep them warm.

This thread keeps making me laugh, every time I see the title I have another little giggle. I need to psych myself up to wash the screaming banshees Angus & Hamish this week as they are pretty nasty. I have never known a pig scream like it. The minute water touches them they start and they don't stop until they are packed into the washing basket, wrapped in a towel and we have the hairdryer out. It's so shrill I think I will need to add earplugs to the waterproof jacket that Karonus didn't opt to use :)

Thankfully Donald & Suilven are much better behaved and Suilven will just want a swim...
