hello does anyone here feed their guinea pigs allen and page food either guinea pig mix with rosehip or fruit and fibre? they come in really big bags and are a reasonable price but i currently feed a complete pellet rather than museli. so I'm not sure about these foods the fruit and fibre also contain bio balance and pro biotics fos and mos prebiotics.

I'm not sure how different this is from their rabbit food, but we bought a big bag for our buns and they won't touch the stuff.

Personally after my experience with the bunny equivalent, I'd never buy the piggy food! I'd stick with pellets. Wagg is quite an economical one if costs of your current food is getting a bit high. I'm not too sure about other feeds (though I'd definitely be up for suggestions - £15 a bag for Wagg and with 9 pigs and more on the way it doesn't last all that long!).

I used to feed my lot gerty guinea, but they've not had that for years after we switched to pellets for them; less selective and I can be sure they're all getting everything they need, rather than only picking up the yummy bits!

Personally I think pellets are the best way to go especially if your piggys enjoy it. Alan, however, won't touch it and prefers the muesli. He has had Allen and Page in the past but I now buy Wagg muesli.

Oscar eats pellets though so I tend to mix some into the muesli mix they have but Alan still picks around them!

Ive tried my pigglies on 2 different pellets. And they only like the p&h one. Which is fairly reasonably priced I think. I am thinking of going down the route of the really big bag when my hubby has built my storage box. Cos If I get another pigglie(that will be number 6 ) I am going to need it.lol

Prefer pellets myself, as my piggies eat it all up, and can't be picky about it:)) They love it so much, their little faces light up at the sound of it landing in the ceramic bowl x)
My piggies absolutely adore P'H pellets :)

i buy my food in 10kg bags...
you dont need to bully poor old OH to build a box...!... lmao....buy a cheap swing lid bin... about 60 litres size fits 10kg lovely... :))
and also... pelets are probably best... i personally think they are...!
with muselis your encouraging selective feeding... and also i was told the other day that there full of colourants and e-numbers... i prefer giving my lot pelets... science selective is the one i use...

This is funny...I recently had mine on P@H pellets and they turned their noses up. I've since mixed it with Burgess Excel and they've been picking out the Burgess ones and leaving the others. Mine like Wagg too, but I have to say their favourite is Burgess Blackcurrant and Oregano. It just so happens thats the most expensive rolleyes
