Oh no! Poor Oreo and poor you! What a rough time you've had. So sorry. Hope Oreo's a bit happier now. It must have been so upsetting hearing Oreo and having to separate them. You gave them a good chance though, and as you say luckily there were no injuries. Aw, sending love x And as for your boss, the pigpoop is a great idea!

Oh no! You definately did the right thing separating them, it sounds like the agression was only getting worse.

It has been getting worse your right Ive been keeping a very close eye on them as I didn't want to mess the bonding up by removing one of them if it wasn't needed eg I was over worrying but after seeing Alex go for oreo like that I couldn't risk them together any longer, I may look into reintroducing them in 6months when oreo us no long hormoneI :) in the mean time I'm going to make sure they got lots fuss etc :)

Thank you Jen, I'm off to buy a stamp ;)

If you do try to reintroduce do so with gloves on! Thats how I got bitten :(
Thank you and Yes I will wear gloves thanks goth mummy :), I think if I had put my hands in to grab Oreo I would of been bitten for such, I just jumped into the run and it sent Alex running (he's such a lovely piggy and we love him to bits, as we all know this is just natural behaviour when they are not getting on sadly) oreo has a few more bites due to that but nothing nasty needing a vet visit but I will keep checking him, he also lost some hair I think it could of been a lot worse had I not been there, I hope they have not done that when ive not been around...poor oreo.

Can you bathe the bites in something antiseptic to make sure he does not end up with an infection or abscess? Poor little man xx

Oh no, I really feel for you :( how much space do they have when they are together and what do you use as bedding?

I only ask as I have two teenage boars who started being not so nice to each other, but we seem to have got on top of it now and they are fine. What we did was give them more space (double level hutch went into the shed and we partitioned of half of the shed as a run so they have the hutch and a 6'x4' run 24/7. We put two of everything in there so now they have plenty of space to get way from each other.

The other thing I did was that I bed the entire thing with large flake shavings, with vetbed on top of the shavings in the bedding areas. This allows me to spot clean very easily, and I NEVER do a full clean. This means that once dominance is decided it tends to remain in balance because if everything was new twice a week with new smells there would be a dominance test a couple of times a week to 'claim' the new 'territory'. This wouldn't be possible to do with fleece but I do think that is makes a major impact on the peace with our pair
