Hi! So I know guinea pigs should not have rabbit food. I totally get that. And I have no idea why I got the two mixed up lol. But I was looking at the old bag and the rabbit bag and every single ingredient is the same, except in the "guaranteed Analysis" part, the piggie bag says it's got 400mg/kg of vit. C. Where's the rabbit doesn't even mention it. That's the absolute only difference. Now my questions here is, I'm always giving Callie tons of vit. C veggies, do you think if I just keep it up it should be okay? Pellets aren't even the main foods she eats(hay and veggies being the main.) I think it should be okay. The brand is oxbow essentials. Thanks!

Mine don't get pellets every day but have bell pepper every day, different hats and other veggies. Some people don't give pellets at all.I think they will be fine

How big a bag did you buy and how long is it likely to last? If it's a relatively short period you could simply give additional VIT C to the piggies as well as the high VIT c veggies and I can't see it doing any real harm. However over a long period it may be difficult to ensure they get the right amount of VIT c.

When I had buns and piggies I used to buy separate feed until the vet told me to just buy the complete piggy one as it was the same apart from the VIT c in the piggy pellets. The rabbit was fine eating the complete piggy pellets (lived to be 10).

It was one of the more pricey bags, and it's not big but not small either if that makes sense

Won't the store let you return it? I'm guessing for a short time it would be okay, provided you are making sure to supplement the vitamin C. However, for a huge bag that is going to last for months, I would probably just take the loss and buy more piggie food if the store won't take it back (I've had to toss pellets that my pigs wouldn't eat before- they are brand-loyal, apparently. It sucks to lose money on it, but they need to eat!)

It's from pet smart so I'm not sure. And unfortunately I already opened the bag :mal::oops:

I think Pet Smart would probably take it back, but not sure if it's opened. I would still call and ask, though, especially if you're a regular customer. I think my Pet Smart recognizes me by now! LOL!

If they sell rabbits then I would see if they will buy it back from you. If not I might try seeing if someone on FB would buy it.
