Today, when I cleaned my piggie's water bottle the water inlet dropped to the kitchen floor, but I used the hot water to rinse it with brush for about half minutes. Will it be effective enough to kill bad bacteria and virus? Because I have never dropped it to the kitchen floor before. I am so careful about it, but today I dropped it. Will it cause any problem?

Becuase it is made of half plastic half metal, so I cannot use hot water to rinse the whole thing. I used hot water to rinse the metal part which is where guniea pig drinks. The plastic at bottom I used the cold water to rinse with brush.

Please don’t panic. It will be fine. The chances of any bacteria entering the spout are pretty much nil.

I worried because I used to be very careful when I handled the water bottle before. This is literally the first time. I think the kitchen floor sometimes put the garbage bag on the floor. Will it get more bacteria or virus to the spout? I worried it would grow day by day even if I cleaned it with hot water?

I use vinegar to clean it. Vinegar can be consumed so it is very safe. I also use vinegar to soak my piggies’ fleece bedding.

It won’t get in. I’m assuming your floor was clean so please stop worrying. You washed it and rinsed so it’s fine.

PS I probably have dropped the spout before. The kids change the water and they probably have as well. I’ve never worried about it.

Will rinsing by water enough to dilute down the bad bacterias?

There aren’t likely to be any bad bacteria in the spout. Bacteria doesn’t sit around waiting to be transferred. If you’ve cleaned the floor then it will be okay.

It doesn’t really matter what kind of floor it is. I’m sure your floor is clean enough, cement or otherwise.

Bacteria isn’t visible. Rinse it again if you wish but it’s okay. There’s no need to buy a new one

Unless someone in your household is sick with Corona virus I wouldn't worry, it will be absolutely fine with what you have done. I certainly wouldn't replace the bottle. Its awesome that you care so much about their health and well being but you are being over cautious.

It is fine if I cleaned the floor not too frequently?

It will be absolutely fine.
The main way to get the corona virus, if you don't have someone in your household with it, is by germs on your fingertips from touching something that some one with the virus has touched but no one touches the floor with their fingertips so I would say it will be absolutely fine.

I am not worried about Corona virus. The main thing I worried is the bacteria or virus from oil or something dirty or harmful on the floor? Is it effective just by rinsing by water? Will it be effective by rinsing to dilute the bacteria or virus?
