I love my Asus, except the tracker mousy thing is starting to wear out and now clicks things I didn't mean to! But when I think of the use it's had it's not surprising somethings wearing out really.
Oh dear. I‘ve been happy with my - now quite elderly - Asus too. Except the ’n’ has worn off the keyboard. No idea why I use a Bluetooth mouse as I don’t like tracker pads.Did you try a plug in keyboard?
If you do go for a new one, just don't get an Asus, it's impossible to get spares for them. That's the advice of my PC Medic. Worst £500 I ever spent was that which I spent on an asus laptop for my son
I got a new Asus power cord on ebay.If you go to look at laptops in a shop you could take your old one and ask to try a keyboard with it first maybe...
Asus get good reviews from Which, but the problem is the unavailability of spares. My son's power cord broke (the plug going into the laptop broke off the lead), they said it was a consumable not covered by warranty, but we couldn't find the right plug anywhere. In the end the internal power board failed too, and it was 6 months before the specialist could find board and cable that would work with that laptop.
I tend to go for HP. It's really difficult though because there are so many to choose from what with all the different brands and the different things each model can have
I have a Microsoft computer and use Microsoft daily at work. My choice of computer (particularly for photography editing) is definitely Apple. To be fair I use both every day, and both have their positives. The HP laptops at work tend to be quite reliableMy Computer of choice is Apple - much less hassle than Microsoft
I thinkk you got lucky there - I bought a power cord at pc world that I was told was for Asus laptops, but it didn't fit properly. They must use several different types of end. It would be a major improvement in technology if manufacturers were made to standardise their power sockets, so one lead would fit all makes/models - like all Android phones use USB connectionsI got a new Asus power cord on ebay.
Not in my household - I'm the one who understands tech stuff round here, my menfolk just use itI know that's what sons are for!
I wasn't blessed with daughters.Don't forget daughters too! Both mine did degree's in computer something or other!
Don't forget old men power, I know enough about computers to get me by.Girl…… and boy power
Great you’re getting your new laptop @Betsy
