Can I get some help on their sexes? Theyā€™ll be two weeks old on Wednesday and Iā€™m starting to panic about my babies making more babies šŸ˜. I tried pushing down to see if weenies would come out but I couldnā€™t get that to work on any of them and couldnā€™t even feel shafts in any of them (might not have pushed hard enough?). Also let me know if I need clearer pics! They did not like taking these so they got very wiggly and hard to manage lol but I can try again if needed

@VickiA one you may be able to cast your eye over.

Iā€™m pretty sure of two of them but not the other 2 Can you get someone to help you hold them so that you can get clearer close up pictures? Iā€™d hate to get it wrong. Please keep to the same numbering. And if possible we need a good clear photo of the inside of the slits.

Hi and welcome

I would like to see pictures of the inside of the slits of #1 and #2 to be absolutely sure. I have a good idea but unlike with piggies I can handle I am not able to look for further confirmation from just a single in order to make absolutely sure. The natural variation is much greater than textbook pictures suggest.

#3 and #4 are definitely girls.

You can find reference pictures in this link here to see what we mean. Before I confirm the gender I would like to see at least 3 gender divisive markers instead of just going by guessing.

Will do! What do you mean by ā€œ3 gender divisive markersā€? Does that mean I need to show three separate things in each pic? Thanks for being so helpful!

Ideally, yes, I can see three things in the outside and slit pictures that belong to just one and the same gender in order to confirm it beyond any doubt; especially when pictures are not the clearest.

This here is a an adult sow reference picture from our general Sexing Guide to illustrate what I mean with gender markers.

Although there is always the hands-on feel for the presence or absence of a tiny rice corn sized penis shaft under the skin by the owner, which I use as a back-up measure if pictures can only take us so far. ;)

We just don't play any guessing games with sexing on this forum. It may take a bit longer but we don't take any risks on here; this is not something where less than 100% surety is good enough. :)

I was wrong, don't mind my first post. 1 is male, 2 is female, 3 is female, and, I am not very sure about 4. Could you post a more clear photo? I think the best way is to go to a vet and get it checked.

I feel like 1 and 2 are boys

If you are in cedar park, and looking for a vet, you could go to Agave Vet Care & Exotic Animal Hospital. They do very good with my guinea pigs.
