My boy Ziggy had soft poos on Sunday night, so I took the boys off veg. He'd also lost a little weight, but that was partly due to him breaking his top incisors a week or so ago (they have since grown back). Last night I noticed that his poos were a little bit worse - misshapen and still soft, so I decided to call the vets for an appointment this morning. Unfortunately, there is only one exotic vet on today and he wasn't considered as an emergency so I couldn't get him seen today. This is all bad timing as I was due to drop them off at the boardersthis evening for Christmas as I leave on Thursday and the boarding place is closed on Wednesday. I couldn't get a response to my calls and texts to the boarders so I drove the 10 mile round trip to speak to them in person and they said I can drop the boys off tomorrow evening. I have an appointment for him at 9am tomorrow so should know more by then.
His poos are now very sticky and clumpy (worse than last night) and I've started to give him fibreplex (although it's out of date, I thought I'd try it). He's eaten a lot of hay overnight and this morning, so I don't know whether to step in with syringe feeding. He's not lost any weight since yesterday morning. He's still engaging through the bars with his friend and doing normal piggy things.
This couldn't have happened at a worse time! I'm so worried about him.
