Hello everyone, I am wanting some feedback from forum members. Firstly i would like to say how much I enjoy reading all the posts and getting useful advice to help me be a better piggy mummy for my band of boys.

1. Would members in the UK be interested in a regular (monthly/3 monthly) 'Guinea pig magazine' especially for guinea pig lovers?

2. If there were health features, a gallery, problem pages, adoption/fostering pages, and advertisements, what other things would make you want to buy this magazine regularly?

3. Apart from "fur and feather", are you aware of any similar, regular magazine? If so, what is good/bad about it?

Thank you for your time and best wishes to you all.

Hi, its funny, me and the OH were discussing this subject the other day as we are both managers in newsagents, me for Martin McColl and him for whsmith.
There is no magazines at all that we are aware of that cater for guineas, neither of us stock fur and feather and i have heard of it, but never actually seen a copy. None of our wholesalers are able to stock it, which i would assume is because the demand is so small.
Anyway, i personally would like to see a guinea specific mag, with all the things you have already mentioned, you could also have some guinea pig history information , product tests and reviews, recipe's for healthy homemade treats. I'm sure the CCT would like to have some input too, theres lots of things you do with it. :(|)

Great idea sign me up

That would be so fab ! I know there is the "Cavies" magazine which does have interesting articles in but this is aimed at the cavie shower and breeder and you cant buy it in shops.A mag available to the public would be a good way to get the message across to pet owners.
A magazine aimed more at pets / rescue and general cavie info would be great

CCT are the Cambridge Cavy Trust guinea pig hospital. They are extremely busy but I'm sure there are plenty of rodentologists who'd be interested.

I'd be more than happy to read and contribute where possible, I think it is a great idea, good market for it.

That would be good and i would appreciate your contributions! I am currently looking into the logistics and practicalities of it, and will definitely be contacting you back.

I would definitely be interested in a piggie magazine!

You could also include articles specific for the time of year, i.e winter how to keep a hutch insulated/ protected from the elements, and summer how to prevent heat stroke, poisonous plants to look out for in the garden etc
It would be a great way for rescue and shelters to advertise and maybe do a feature on a different rescue each issue.

Very exciting keep us posted!
