As a lot of you know I've been making fleece liners for a long time now, I'd really like your valued opinion please on whether you like your liners made of fleece OR if there was another option which meant your liners didn't have hay/hair stuck to them all the time, would it be of interest to you? Please add your vote to the poll 😊

I find fleece washes better than alot of fabrics so I prefer that.

I make my own liners. I tried to make them out of a shiny material that hay dropped off easily but of course they felt wet to the touch when the pigs weed on them so didn't use them for long at all. If there was such a material I would love it! I would be very pleased indeed.

Do you know of such a material? If so, do tell, I am very curious now.

I'd love the hay not to stick to the cage liners but wouldn't want something that didn't wick well and feel soft. I'd prioritise the latter.

I have to confess that I have made pee pads out of various fabrics to test them out, and I have never found anything that hay didin't stick to and was still soft and felt dry after being peed on.
The hay sticking is a pain but I also find that with a good shake out and a quick brush over with a plastic curry comb a few times a year the liners hold up well and don't look too bad.

I have fleece cage liners that hay don't stick much but I also have cage liners where I stopped using it coz too much hay sticks on it and it was a pain in the bum cleaning it. The ones I use in my piggies' main house are fine and I can easily remove hay from it. But the ones on their play area at the other side of the living room, I now replaced it with bath mats. Mind you, hay still get stuck in the bath mats but it's easier to remove.

I dont find hay sticking to fleece is too much of a problem, its the floofy fur that takes an hour to brush off everything twice a week! Jezzy and Blod shed enough long floofy fur between them that I could use it to make naked Tallulah a pair of floofy pyjamas every week...

Oh the hair! We are currently on holiday in America and hubby is complaining there are guinea pig hairs on his knickers and socks! 🤣🤣🤣
