Your opinion of wiring of cages

The wire should be ok but I personally would be more worried about Mr Fox burrowing underneath it to get your bunny...they can dig BIG holes!

If you were to get it I would certainly dig it into the ground and concrete it down with foundations of some sort.

The cage she is in now is on concrete and she hets to go in a run in the day when I'm home. She has a huge cage at mo but my only concern is its just started to get infected with wood lice, and rain gets in. See the cage is a run/hutch combo and not all of it is sheltered and I'm worried about her in the bad weather. Last year we had her in all winter

when i was a kid i put my ducks away in their old house as it took me over an hour to try to get them away in concreted house. No one told me foxes could dig and i was only 12 and fox took them both, 17 years later i still cry about the guilt all the time. So many bad things happened when i was a child

I forgot to put guineas away when i was about 10 and told my dad thinking he would do it and he never, they all got taken.

Should i still feel bad? i cry about it a lot but part of me thinks my parents should have been more responsible to as i was sooooo young. No one ever helped me put animals away and i had an older sister. I just did not understand and no one taught me, i understand now of course but cant help losing sleep over it every now and then

:)p Hi

Sounds to me like * just need to talk about it, have someone else tell you what you already know. You were only a child. Mistakes happen and we can only learn from them.

Easier said than done i know but try not to dwell on the past. As a child there was nothing more you could have done. Too much responsibilty was put onto you. Dont waste any more time on 'ifs buts and maybes'.

All you can do is educate others and always be extra careful.

We all regret alot of things but lifes too short . Enjoy yourself and dont put yourself down. When you start thinking about it just think to yourself that all you can do is do your best by your pets now.

Hope this helps x

Thank you :) that means a lot. My parents are still bad owners. They live seperatley in France and just dont do the best job. they do an ok job but not like they should. And i have learnt, I'm always making sure hutches are secure and spend so muchmoney on the hutches to so they have enough room. In comparision to most people i know with Rabbits, my Rabbits have mansions. But as i work i cant handle them a lot so they need big areas only trouble woth big cage, means big place with lots of places to hide so i cant handle them grrrrr

The wire should be OK, especially if you mesh the bottom or put it on concrete. However you should also make it rain and windproof, as there's not a lot of space for bunny if its bad weather, as they likely would want to sit out in the rain, and would be limited to the covered area!

awww bless you, i am exactly the same as you i feel guilty over stuff, i never can let it go, but like someone said, you can only learn from it, and its a lot to put on a kid after all.

You know better now and love them all x
