Hello! This is my first post here as we recently adopted 3 female Guinea Pigs and I am trying to learn as much as I can about them. But right now, I think one of them needs more help.
I don’t know exactly their age, but according to the rough estimate by the breeder, they are around 10 to 12 weeks old. The thing is that Cream hasn’t gained any weight the last 2 weeks. Every time I offer her fresh vegetables she devours them, but I don’t see her eating too much hay or pellets. She was eating before, but for some reason, she stopped the last couple of weeks. This matches to when I change the bedding to fleece and started putting the hay on a tray. So thinking she didn’t like the tray, I went back, last week, to offer her the hay on a pile next to her, but still she doesn’t eat much of it. I have seen the other 2 girlies eating it.
Also, Cream stays mostly in a corner, hiding, and when I pick her up she makes a whimpering noise which stops when I feed her. I am starting to think she is being bullied by the other 2, or she feels alone, because the other two are together most of the time.
In the evening she wheeks loudly for food but I haven’t seen her running around when she is in her run. I not am expert in Guinea Pigs, and I initially thought all of this was her being scared but now with the lack of weight gain, I don’t know.
What would you recommend? Would it help if I keep her separated from the other two for some time? Is it the case to see the doctor already?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi!

Please switch from weighing once weekly as part of their regular health check to weighing daily at the same time. Have her vet checked (including the back teeth in her mouth!) and start offering syringe feed top up. she sounds frankly ill to me! :(
Complete Syringe Feeding Guide

Hay is making over 80% of the daily food intake, so if a piggy is stopping eating hay properly (usually because of a health issue), then this is a serious problem.
