sorry :red i was just wondering whether the guinea pigs can stop overnight in a fish tank (no water of course) as we've got a 4ft long and 2ft wide fish tank doesnt have a lid on it (i lost that years ago).

we are obviously going to get them an overnight cage but we wont be able to do that for probably another month.

i'd rather they slept in a different room to the living room but its not essential so dont worry if anyone says no to the tank idea!

so the idea is/was/might be having the big tank in a separate room which the guineas get put into when we (adults) go to bed then taken out when we wake so they would only be in there for around 6-7 hours each night

is this going to be alright as a temporary measure? or is this a big no-no

thanks for the reply, its good to know that its big enough for the night hours

in the daytime they've got an indoor run 6x3 with all the mod cons (lol) re the water bottle, i've actually had to devise a way to keep one on my indoor run since its a converted bookcase so its actually attached with velcro which i'd do the same for the glass tank (the velcro is sticky back velcro so its glued to the side of the run and the waterbottle - fully removable but strong enough to stick a full bottle to the side)
